Im not going to write him off. Wasn't a good look obvs. But dude hasn't even played an NBA game yet.
Oh, I am not either. I think he is going to be a great player.

I don't think he sux or is a bust or anything like that.

He should be an All Star at some point.

I am just glad we took Dybansta and last night reinforced that. Dybansta seems pro ready while Peterson seems very immature.

I agree. The wiz did their homework and chose correctly.

Having a meltdown and shoving a player is absurd in a Summer League game. Especially with a minute left and being down by 2 or 3. He is immature and I never wanted him.
Yeah I agree it was not a good look, he certainly turned the ball over a lot too as mentioned. But this is also summer league and he lit it up in the other games.

But our guy sure looked legit last night and that's all I care about.

I don't understand the trade but that is me.

I am guessing they wanted to:

Get rid of Russell's contract
Bring in a solid locker room guy for the young core

What do I know?

I am not sure why we have 10 wings on this team though. I would like to have seen a veteran Guard or PF brought in instead of another Wing player.

Gabe Vincent?

Vet experience.

Russell is not a winning player.

Interesting.

If GS really wants LeBron, I guess they will have to do it right?

I would want Lendeborg in any trade. The Wizards needs talent now....not a bunch of draft picks.

However, that is what OKC did and it has worked amazingly well.

I really like the picks and swaps. We do not need the talent now. Aren’t ready to win. But potentially lotto picks in 4-5 years when we are?

Yes please.

Yeah I saw what I was hoping to see. I know it's summer league and these are not good players, but he is able to get his shot and he will live on the free throw line. His 3 ball will need to improve and obviously he needs to get stronger. But those things will probably happen, I thought AJ was very impressive last night despite the shooting percentages, hos shot will start to fall as you said.

Most importantly, I like the vibes I get from him. He seems like a leader and like a player who wants to be great.

This is a franchise cornerstone.

Gotta have a go-to guy for the final possession. He looks to be that guy. Clear out and watch him back his man down, surround him with capable shooters for when he gets doubled. He just looks like a guy who will be large and in charge at an early age.

Really like the moves they have made.

Have talked about it with @tlance in the general NBA forum.

Regarding the runors this offseson.....didn't think they would deal AD to GS. The Warriors allegedly wanted him to help recruit Bron.

AD, Trae and Dybantsa is a nice trio to have with the rest of the young guys they have. Sarr could take a huge leap with those 3 guys.

A lot of people in the general NBA forum questioned the Wiz trading for both AD and Trae but I really liked it. They clearly are tired of the rebuild. If they can be reasonably healthy they could be a 5-6 seed and a good squad come playoff time once they have developed some chemistry.

Guys

Don't respond to DJ Fieri. He admitted on the NBA board he is going to "ramp up" his posting here because he is following me around.

He is just here to troll and admitted to it.

He has no interest in discussing the team and is spam posting obviously. 3 posts in 6 minutes...LOL

If we trade AD, then we would need talent now to fill that position right?

That is what I was referring to. Are we ready to win now? Maybe, but not having a starting PF would hold us back for sure.

Lendeborg would help fill that role and provide youth and talent IMO.

Folks

I cleared up my misunderstanding with @DJ Fieri and apologize for the mix up and drama and my part.

His intent is to discuss the Wizards and Commanders with the great posters here.

Apologies for the mix up everyone.

Maybe he wants to be here?

Maybe he can stay healthy?

If can avoid the soft tissue injuries and freak injuries, we could be in a good spot here.

Maybe he gets invigorated with the younger players?

I am hoping for the best because it seems he is here for the foreseeable future.

IF healthy, this team can do some damage.

One thought I always had was having the top pick in an great draft is not the same as having the top pick when there is a generational talent at 1. This draft was great because there were an unusual amount of great prospects. We improved but all that means is our competition improved a lot as well. I'd obviously much rather have had the first pick last season.
