I know it's early but I think it's worth talking about.

1. Anthony Davis - The Lakers came out good even though it was a Warriors team busted up. If there are no injuries - Davis is a top candidate merely because he is worthy but also in the top three or four teams(if that happens)

2. K Leonard - If the Clippers mesh together and the players come together well, Leonard is an easy choice since the Clippers will most likely be in the top three teams and knowing Doc Rivers - that's practically guaranteed.

3. R Westbrook - With Harden and Westbrook working together and assuming they will adjust to each other and both make sacrifices, then Westbrook should be in the top five candidates

4. Harden - I think this dude just by being there is most like in the top five.

5. I think this spot is up for grabs - I haven't done enough research think who I would choose, but I think there are about four of five players out there that could end up in this spot as a candidate

Any those are my picks - good or bad

No Giannis?
No Steph?
No Lebron?

List is fraudulent.

My top 5 candidates

1) Giannis. Bucks will be vying again for a top seed and if his game continues to progress, repeating
is definitely a possibility.

2) Harden. Ever year he's in contention for that MVP award. But honestly this might be the year he falls out of the top 5. People are getting a bit tired of him and if he couldn't win with the numbers he put up last year, it'll take something really, really special to get him to the top.

3) Kawhi. I have him slightly below the other two if only because I believe the Clippers won't go all out for the regular season. He'll have his fair share of work load management.

4) Lebron. Even though everyone is talking about AD, Lebron's going to have to be the engine for that team. Deferring to AD will only go so far. Lebron's going to need to dominate again and I think he can do so with AD as his partner. He'll put up gaudy numbers again and if the Lakers have success, it'll be because of Lebron.

5) Steph. I could have went any number of ways for the 5th spot, but gonna use my homer judgement here. Even though everyone for the most part thinks the Warriors will punt this year (or should), try telling them that. Steph's going to go out and do everything he can to will the team to win. He's going to put up big numbers in the new arena.

Others:
Embiid - I think he's going to have a monster year. Could easily be in contention for the MVP. The only thing is I worry if he'll be invested in every game. At times last year I felt like he wasn't 100% committed.

Kyrie - Everyone loves a bounce back story and after his rough tenure in Boston, he could resurrect himself here. The Nets could be a sneaky good team even without KD. If Kyrie puts them into the conversation for a 4 seed, he'll get some big consideration.

I think Lebron is a bit too old and just not going to be respected of the honor which I believe he should be. My list was trying to predict the votes

For the most part players only get the nod when in the top three or for teams which really sucks but leaves the others out realistically speaking , but I'm quite accepting of your list

Steph might average 35 until Klay comes back, which I'm guessing will be in March or early April hopefully(for them). If the Warriors are in the top 4 of the West(which I think is reasonable) he should get it. Steph's in for a huge year. He would have won it last year if he didn't get hurt IMO. Dude was insane before his injury.

1. LeBron- He's saying all the right things and Davis will have great numbers. But, if the Lakers finish top 4, it's LeBron's to lose.

2. DAME Dollar- I think Dame has one more jump left in his game.

3. Embiid- Best player on what I expect to be the best team.

4.Curry- y'all gonna remember this boy cold.

5. Freak-peat

Dame is a nice pick. He'd have to make sure the Blazers are a top 3/4 seed in the West to get it though.

Jokic, good call.

Simmons only if he's really upped his game and become the go-to guy over Embiid
Jimmy Butler, another good call
KAT, no unless the Wolves shock the league
Siakem, LOL

Agree.

Sadly, they've finished that high, recently.

They just don't have enough to get out of the West.

The Lakers, Clippers and Jazz have passed them since IMO. We'll have to see how the season plays out but I don't see them beating any of those teams in a 7 game series.

The Blazers could surprise but the Western top has gotten a lot heavier.

I'm legit interested in seeing what Siakam can be unleashed.

MVP candidate?

No.

Possible All-star?

Maaaaaybe.

I expect to see big years from Siakam, OG, Brandon Ingram, Tatum and Brown of the Celtics.

Very dark horse but not completely impossible.

Definitely an MVP candidate for the future but I think it's still too soon.

We might be able to start talking about it as soon as next season though. All depends on how the Mavs perform.

How is he going to do sharing the spotlight with Porzingis?

I like Siakem. But like you said, possible all-star at best, definitely not an MVP candidate.

I think Tatum and Ingram are going to have big seasons too.

Talent wise, yes......on paper.

But, I don't see the Lakers nor Clippers pushing for a top seed.

Health will be much more important.

I can honestly see the Nugz, Jazz, Blazers finishing 1,2,3 and possibly going home in the first round if they get a bad matchup.

Clippers, Lakers, Dubs would be horrible for either of the 3 to get in the first round.

Shit, the Rockets aren't a easy win either.

The playoffs could be GLORIOUS.

Future MVP candidate, absolutely. I think next year might be too soon. Team wont be good enough for him to get real consideration I don't think.
