They're actually going to attempt to adapt it. I guess if anyone can make it work, it's Spielberg-who's owned the rights for almost 40 years.

I am not sure it works as a stand alone, though (no pun intended).

it is a strong piece of a larger story, but without the crossover value, I am not sure it has much potential.

By itself, it was an outstanding fantasy novel, IMO.

Similar to The Stand though, going to be tough to get a 1000 page book with so much different stuff going on to translate to the screen. I'll be curious to see how many episodes the series has when it's finally produced.

It would be very hard to adapt for a movie, but like you said, if anyone can do it, it's Spielberg.

I know they dealt with thinnies in Haven, but have they been dealt with elsewhere?

I guess they kinda had them in Dark Tower, but that movie was SOOOOO bad, it is hard consider it.
