What kind of team is always going for 2 rather than kicking a safe xp. This team's propensity to kick like this cost them that game yesterday. Pittsburgh had 6, 12, 15, 18, 24, and 30 points failing all four 2 pt conversions. The cowboys had 7, 10, 13, 16, 23, 29, 35. If the steelers decided to kick the XP rather than go for two on all of them and made them they would have had 34 points. That would have still been one(well actually three when I downplay how it could have gone) less than cowboys. However, here's another dumb thing the steelers did. Just went right ahead and scored instead of taking time off the clock. They left too much time for Dallas to go down the field and score. Further, they just might have been able to kick the game winning(or tying) FG since Brown got in the redzone when time ran out.

Possibility for how this game could have gone......

The steelers keep finding ways to give up being at home in January and/or having to play in the wild card rounds against tough division rivals.

The Steelers have a Top 3 RB, Top 5 QB and the #1 WR and a pretty solid O-Line, they trust their offense more than they trust their kicker. I don't blame them when you have an offense of that caliber.

I believe their philosophy is if they convert at least 50% of them then it's justified.

You don't know how a different score will change how either team adjusts. It is easy to plug in numbers after the fact but that is not how it works.

The math checks out for going for 2 every time if you increase the sample size to say 10,000. Problem is it doesn't take a great degree of error to make it go 0/2, 0/4, etc if you don't execute in reality. Personally I've always preferred to always take the XP on the first touchdown scored unless circumstance dictates otherwise. After that is fair game.

Tomlin has to own the 2 pt attempts...no doubt, at some point it should register that we're not making the 2 and 1 is better than 0....but they lost because they couldn't contain Zeke and a stupid, senseless, facemask penalty

Two of them. Not sure how the exorcist attempt on Beasley wasn't called even though a ref was clearly watching it happen.

Didn't see the ref clearing watching it, but a terrible miss and fortunate Beasley wasn't hurt. Really bad play by Gay.
