The SportsHoopla QB Rankings: Pt. 8

This offseason I am intending on doing an ongoing poll rankings of all the expected starting QBs. Our previous poll had Big Ben (10) beating out Philip Rivers (4) and Matt Ryan (3).

You don't need to be in it for the long haul, just vote when you can. The offseason is long and I will space it out. There will come a time where it doesn't matter so I will group, but we'll go as far as we can.

Question: Who is the eighth best QB in the league?

Here are the parameters:

This is just for this coming year. Age can matter as far as current abilities and experience, etc., but not for contract or length of remaining career. If younger means better, sure. Otherwise, it's irrelevant.

Assume that each QB is in the optimal system with an equal level of talent around them (average everywhere) and coaching. If the current QB of a team does not fit in their current system or on a bad team, imagine them in the right system and average team.

Darn autocorrect. It changed Rivers to Rived. I know it isn't a typo because it did it again here. I must have accepted the spelling before by not correcting it. For example, it still corrects Kaepernick to Kaepernivk because I misspelled it once. It changes of to if. Anyone know how to reset autocorrect.

Romo, can rack up a lot of yards. He's been a great FF quarterback for me, winning the championship two years ago...but, you know.


Kaepernick, is a great athlete, can really run and really throw. I just don't know about him, yet.


Eli, if he wakes up this year: he can sling it pretty good when he gets going, but..


Flaco, huge arm, but, but he can disappear for three quarters at a time...


RGIII, watched him in person for years, just knew he was going to get hurt when he arrived in NFL. Good arm, but I just don't know...


Foles, watched him in Hi School, like him a lot. But still, not sure yet.


Going with Ryan. He is a pretty complete NFL quarterback, and given the tools, think he'll have a good year.

That was my fat fingers. I was hurrying because I was at a kids bday party and the Mrs. was giving me the "am I with them" hurry up (nicely though). She of course did it after I started the poll options. It wasn't my kids bday or my kids friend. It was a friend of a friend's kid. :facepalm:

Nah "Can" is a verb here. So you can select the other 11 choices as 8th best or you can "can Newton" (fire Newton).

Wow how the F is Rivers still not ranked let alone NOT leading the poll?

I'm a Hawks fan but I'd put Rivers over Wilson even, let alone Luck. The hell? Rivers has had basically zero help down there outside of Allen lately, and he's even man enough to admit he played like crap in 2012-2013. He literally fully took blame, said it was his fault, and didn't bash ANYONE on his team.

I voted Rivers and am SHOCKED he's not leading this poll. LUCK over RIVERS if we're judging CURRENT play? KIDDING ME!?

My top 10:

(top 4 in no order, whatever) Rodgers, Brees, Manning, Brady
5-6: Rivers/Ben
7-9: Romo/Wilson/Luck
10: Kaepernick

Matt Ryan? Is anyone serious voting for him? He's had the best WR core (TE included) in quite possibly NFL history (least a year back and prior) and is still mediocre.

Obviously a bunch of homers and just fanbase bias on these boards. I'm happy to admit Wilson is not top 5 based on what he's done. Why others can't post unbiased votes/comments is beyond me.

I've heard he has a bad reputation or attitude at times, so taking the blame could be his media talk. I don't know how he isin person - good, bad, or ugly.

Fair list, only guys I see missing that could make a case are Eli/Flacco
