Roark is an OK pitcher with an outfield defense that can prevent the gap shot. He dodged a lot of bullets against a hyperactive Atlanta team. I guess he's not as bad as we've seen and he will be all right.
I don't see this slump really ending unless they get lucky for a few games -- fool's gold.

They will have to clear a roster spot, probably put Blandino on the 60-day. Seems like they already could have done that. What a laughter that 6 games in AAA was enough for him to get his experience in CF.

Oh no kidding. Im shocked they didnt try to sell us on keeping him there for longer for the Super 2 stuff. Cheap S.O.B.s. you're gonna tell me Nick isnt ready to play CF but Jesse is?

Esp. when they run a relief pitcher out there for defense. I know Lorenzen is a good player but ...jeez, holy insult. I get it that they used the issue of his ankle slowing down his development but that was just a coincidence that he got hurt on the play.
Wonder who's gone -- Ervin or Schebler. Schebler's career is lost now. That shoulder never recovered.

Alex Wood is a lost cause, and the Reds know it.
As for Scooter, if he could use steriods, he would heal faster but thanks to the assholes who abused it, he can't.

Selective bad pitching. Peralta could have blunted the whole thing instead of throwing BP to otherwise confused lefthanded hitters. Lorenzen got the shitty end of the pole and Iglesias once again thinks everything he throws is unhittable. Vogt was automatic in that spot. You could see it coming.

Kemp released, Schebler sent to AAA. Iglesia needs to be moved out from closer. And I don't know what's going on with Votto and Barnhart.

I would have thought that Bell was going to make good on his comment about modifying pitcher usage. Turns out, he does it just like everyone else does.

John, I still say your Reds will be competitive in the NL Central this season. They have had some bad breaks early this season that other NL Central teams will have as the season progresses. There is a long season left to be played and many things, both good and bad, will happen to all teams.

The Cubs have gone from worst to first in just 30 days so anything can happen.

Iglesias won't be moved out of closer

Well, I sure hope he can get his problems worked out, or the Reds are going to lose a lot of games, that we should have won.

I see the Reds brought an infielder, Josh VanMeter. I don't know much about him. I don't remember seeing him in any spring training games.

He wasn't invited to the big-league camp but he was on the AAA roster. Not sure how that process works. He won't amount to much, IMO. Lefty pull hitter though versatile with the glove. He's better than Cliff Pennington from a fan's perspective. He's also buds with Senzel, which might be his main role -- to make sure Senzel doesn't go dirty-leg on us.

I hate how the game, I used to love. Has changed to what it is today. It is only a remanence of what it used to be. I hate analytics, the shift, Home run or nothing, and the over all lack of basic fundamentals. Not to leave out how 2/3's of the league is just cannonfodder for the other 3rd.

There isn't much going on here with this team that interests me. I don't care about losing 2-0 just so they can have a low team ERA.
