The Rodgers situation reminds me of the Broncos in 1992.

This is when Elway and Dan Reeves relationship was getting much worse like Rodgers with Green Bay. Green Bay for drafting Love was kind of the last straw with Rodgers even though he will not admit it. Same with Elway too when they took..... that's right, the legendary Tommy Maddox with the 1st round pick. Reeves move was even worse because Elway was younger when this happened and Maddox was a 2nd to 3rd round pick who was surprised to get drafted that early.

Oh the memories.....

Ted Gregory pick also made me enjoy Reeves.

I will keep saying this that probably is the worst 1st round pick in modern football history. The guy was projected to be a late round pick and Reeves knew he made a mistake when he met him at the airport to meet him for the 1st time when he arrived to Denver. Reeves claimed that his hands were bigger and instead of being 6-2 and 270, he was more like 6-0 and weighed around 250 pounds. People should've been fired after that pick. I'm still pissed off about that and that was around 35 years ago. I don't know of another 1st round pick that was cut in training camp (didn't make the final squad).

I'd say Rodgers has given the Packers a good indication he is not budging from his position. The Packers have to realize sometime around training camp opening Rogers' trade value will go down while Packer urgency to make a deal will surge.

Players can opt out of the NFL contract year by July 2nd. If Rodgers opts out the Packers have to pay him $18 million to stay home (due to contractual and earned bonus') and we will have a rinse and repeat next year. If there's going to be a trade I suspect it will come soon.

I'm not nearly as excited at Rogers coming to the Broncos as I was - let Wash have him and play our deal out.

Honestly, I’m on the fence now. I’m not thrilled with the thought of having to gut the future of this team. There will be proverbial line, before the cost outweighs the gains. If Paton can manage to stay inside those lines, then I say go for it. We will be an instant contender with Rodgers. It would be sweeter to win it all with Lock though.

Denver has a top 10 roster according to sites like ESPN and PFF . Lock needs to pull his head out of his ass, step up , take the job from jump . It's a 24/7/365 job to be a NFL QB.

So, what do you want? Mingo says no.
I happily point out that I have said "yes" and have said "no" on this issue - It would all depend upon the compensation required to get Rodgers and I see him at a fire sale price at this point.

I am of the opinion to roll with Lock and Bridgewater this year. If we want to trade for Rodgers or Watson or another option if neither impresses.

Rogers' value in a trade is diminishing due to the lack of another team being able to integrate Aaron Rodgers into its offensive system - so I do not expect a trade unless it happens in the window of the next 7 days or so.

I would say by Sunday so there is time to get him to training camp on time. The longer this drags out the less likely it is to happen.

That 1992 season of all might have been Reeves best coaching jobs. Denver was remarkably competitive that year with two rookie QBs. I remember the defending SB Champions and the Team that won the SB that year, Dallas Cowboys, came to Denver and Denver gave them all they could handle. I believe Dallas won 27-24. Denver had the lead but they just couldn't stop Emmitt Smith at the end. Great game

There was no hard cap in the NFL so it is quite different as similar as it may seem.
