the Bengals are eligible to get three players back at practice this week for the first time in the regular season. Two players, Chris Pressley and Zac Robinson, are eligible to come off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and train with the team in practice. They don't, however, have to be automatically added to the 53-man roster. The third player, Andrew Hawkins, can come off the injured reserve list and participate in practices, too. Per IR rules, though, Hawkins wouldn't be eligible to play for another two weeks. So, look for him when the Bengals travel to Miami on Oct. 31. This already-loaded pass-catching corps will be adding another key weapon.

Talk about another player that could be used to break down deep cover-2 defenses.

My guess is Whalen.

I would imagine Whalen will be gone. I thought I saw him in a few early games, but he's been out since. This probably would limit an contribution from Dane going forward -- Though I'm sure we'd hold onto him.

It pains me to say it because he drives me insane, but Tate has been reliable this season. He has caught a few balls that have been thrown to him and he's a very sure-handed punt returner. Bonus points for him as he made a huge play with the game on the line last sunday.

Tate is justifying the faith Marvin has in him (ooh, that tasted really bad). We have a major cluster at slot receiver when Hawk gets back. I would like to see Sanz get some more action, but I just don't see how that can happen now.

One funking punt return does not buy him a reprieve from me. I still think he sucks ass. He was a couple inches from actually losing yards on that punt return, but did a good job on that cut. A c*nt hair later, and he losses 5 yards.
