Grandal is a very good catching prospect. As a Padres fan I'm very pleased with this deal. I hope it takes the sting away from the Agon trade. Which was awful.

Uhh no. They weren't involved. However they did have the highest bid for Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish. The Rangers now have 30 days to sign him, which they are expected to do so. Darvish seems very excited about possibly becoming a Ranger.

Ability has never been a problem for Hamilton. It was whether or not he could beat Drugs & Alcohol. It will be interesting to see the contract the Rangers end up giving him. I doubt they will go longer than 3 years.

Well now it's his ability to stay healthy. Texas knows Hamilton is a core player and he has stated he really wants to stay in Texas. Someone on MLB network said they thought he would get something like 5yrs at 100 million. I don't think it will be that big. I think it will be something like 4yrs at 75 million.

4 years would be a compromise. I expect something in the 3 to 4 year range for 17 million per.
