Not sure if this is due to lockout shenanigans, but the Rangers are squeezing in a doubleheader on the road between home series. So we've got two against the Fish today.

Otto gets the afternoon shift, and Gray returns to get hurt again in the evening.

The Rangers have matched their win total from last season.

From Jeff Wilson:

Young, a 13-year MLB veteran who spent four seasons in the minor leagues before his debut, hasn’t lost faith in Winn.

“The adversity he’s faced this year is going to serve him well long-term,” Young said. “He’s been challenged in ways that maybe he hasn’t quite faced in the minor leagues, and I’d rather him go through that adversity in Triple A than having it for the first time in the big leagues. I’m very excited about his future and I expect him to put himself right in the mix at some point next year.

“Pitching development is not linear, and they are circuitous routes to the big leagues. And even once you’re here, it’s not finished. So I encourage patience, especially with somebody that young. Our goal is that when he does get here he’s ready for it and he’s here to stay.”

I wonder if Blaine Crim will ever be appreciated by those doing the prospect rankings. He is currently 6th in the Texas League in OPS. He is the only one in the top 10 in Texas League OPS, who also has a career OPS of .900 or better, to not be in their organization's top 30 prospect list on MLB Pipeline's rankings. There are some with a career OPS less than .900 on those top 30 lists.

I understand that we have a deep system compared to some, but when I look at who they have in our top 30 I can see at least 10 on there that I think Crim should be ranked ahead of.

Eli White will complete his re-hab assignment by Thursday and will have to be restored to the 40-man roster requiring that someone be DFA'ed to maintain the roster at 40. who goes? 1 of Calhoun, Miller or Culberson makes the most sense to me

Being that Miller is unfortunately owed $ millions for next year id assume Calhoun or Culberson

it would be worth those millions to clear his spot on the 40.

I'm not sure who I would rank higher right now, Otto or Dunning.
Are you fine with both being in the rotation to begin 2023?

As a 4 and a 5, sure. To begin the season.

1-3 should be Perez, the other starter they sign, and Gray.

And then between Otto and Dunning, whoever falters first gets replaced by Ragans.

Just to clarify, if Dunning/Otto get outclassed in ST by Ragans or someone else, then I'm good with that.
