I can see Martone or Foerster in the bumper role.

That being said, do you keep them on separate PP lines playing that role or would you have them both on PP1?

I think you start with a couple of lines then try to fine tune it as much as possible, be nice to roll to lines who can score.

I don't know. They both appear to be more goals than assists guys.

3 playmakers and Foerster/Martone or 4 playmakers and one of them.
I can see the argument both ways.

We basically need 8 offensive players for two PP lines.
Zegras
Michkov
Foerster
Martone
Konecny
Tippett
Cates
Dvorak
Bump/Barkey

Dvorak is your best face-off winner at 54%, so he has to be on PP1 when it starts in the offensive zone, yes?

If you want both Foerster and Martone on that top line do you take out Michkov or Zegras?

I think I’d take Zegras off to be honest. I think Martone/Michkov is the connection that creates a problem. Both have enough playmaking ability but are also scorers. I think Martone down low and Michkov on the half wall will make teams overcommit somewhere. Either to those guys, leaving the back door open, or they don’t give enough help and Michkov or Martone create a chance themselves.

Agree, have to have Dvorak on the top unit for the faceoff. Or Couturier. I think Foerster makes sense on the back door.

Then hopefully Zegras can be the driver of PP2.

I would like Zegras on PP1 but you do have to win the FO. I agree that Dvorak should take that spot.

Is anyone looking to do fantasy hockey this coming season? I will probably be in at least two different leagues, but if we can put one together made up mostly of our forum members from here, that would be fun.

I personally love the live drafts and managing a fantasy team really keeps you up to date with the entire Nhl, instead of just our team, division or conference.

This is where I think maybe we should have thrown a bone to Anaheim, a couple prospects may have let them let Carlson go. Not sure if you can do that in an offersheet situation though.

That would be nice, one thing that sticks out about the Leo deal is in an interview, Briere said He wanted to come here because he really liked the look of our youth core. Hopefully other players in the league are noticing and that Philly may be a good landing destination.

Martone’s tremendous showing in the NHL at the end of last season has to position him as the Calder favorite heading into this year. He didn’t just look like he belonged, he looked like an immediate impact player and potential needle-mover for the Flyers’ ceiling. If you presume Trevor Zegras and Travis Konecny are two of the forwards on the top power play, there are only two spots for Martone, Matvei Michkov, Tyson Foerster, Owen Tippett and Christian Dvorak, with the other three forming the nucleus of PP2. Smart money has to be on Martone being at the top of that pecking order for one of the available PP1 spots. Surely a lot of people agree with me, but I'm extremely excited for Martone. He looks like a game changer already, and he has the size that we need too, so he should be able to hold up physically at the Nhl level. Put him on PP1 all season long and he wins the Calder with 60+ points.
