Good to see he's matched his last years totals.I knew it was going to be Risto.
In front of the net.
On a deflection.
6 on 5.

Why does this team look so slow and bad? Granted, its early season, but damn they look far from impressive.Good lord our defense is a bunch of gutless pussies. Woll is gonna have to play our of his mind to pull this one off.
It's so weird to me, they have had this issue of not being able to skate the puck out of their zone for years and it never gets corrected. I know I can't be the only one that sees this, something has got to change or this is going to be every game. Why does this team look so slow and bad? I'm not worried long-term. Game 3 of 84 is tomorrow. Look at the guys that have scored or assisted on our goals, and actually look like they care at times. It's the veterans like Coots, Sanheim, Risto and Konecny. Once the youngsters come along, we will have ourselves a squad, but how long is that going to take? Hopefully not more than another game or two. This is not sustainable.
It's like they forgot how to play or are re-learning this system.
Our strategy appears to be park the bus and score on the counter attack.
Except we don't counter.
We need to get north/south and pucks to the net with traffic. ******* get a dirty goal or two. They can't all be pretty, tic-tac-toe plays that everyone wants to see in the highlights. 18 shots on net for a game in which we had 4 power plays and it went into OT is unacceptable.Got jobbed missed that crosscheck but in reality they were killed tonight. Canes totally outplayed them. Need to start skating and fast....
Ovechkin, Malkin and many others score PP goals from a three foot diameter spot on the ice. Their teams pass around setting up that shot - it’s as predictable as my shit after morning coffee, yet they continue to do it.I am really perplexed that a NHL hockey team can be this bad at the PP! Nearly every other NHL franchise has at least a decent, serviceable PP and yet this bunch of players can’t even get the basics under their belts!! WTF??!!
PS. The Flyers denied me an exceedingly rare tri-fecta with Browns and Purdue winning this week.Ovechkin, Malkin and many others score PP goals from a three foot diameter spot on the ice. I’m not sure what our PP play is, but I never see that same shot being set up. I don’t know what they’re trying to set up when I see three players with their back to the puck.
They look like they have no idea how to even bring the puck up the ice when on the PP. Any PP coach worth their salt would have this practiced to death until they do it automatically. Then simplify it just get it to the point, shoot and go to the net something will eventually happen which is better than what they're doing now!
