It's not near that bad, but for a franchise that historically makes the playoffs nearly every year and gets to the Cup Finals about every 7 years, this is a very rough stretch. No playoffs since '20 and no Cup Finals since '10. For really one of the most successful Nhl franchises ever (in terms of winning), it's extremely frustrating.

The more concerning part about that article is the trade rumor between the leafs and flyers, Briere dropped the ball trying to play hard ball and is trying to cover it up. Certain trades this summer will prove it.

I agree i was thinking we could get Treliving to at least discuss an Austin Mathews trade but then i look at our mediocre team and system and we don't have enough to even think we could get Mathews.
I would do this trade in a second but im not sure Toronto fans would let anyone in Toronto management live if they did this.

If you really break that down piece by piece, it's not a good offer. If we wanted a 1st and a prospect for just Risto, that's already way more than half their trade value and we even toss in a 3rd. Tippett should be worth MORE than Risto. Hage is not projected to be a 1st line center, Zharovsky just looks like a younger version of Michkov, Xhekaj is an undrafted 3rd pairing defender and Laine is just a throw-in so that they can stay under the cap ceiling.
