This team is playing well.

Second consecutive game putting up at least 50 shots, and they actually won this time despite Vokoun being pulled/the refs doing their best to give the Canes the game in the 3rd period.

Out of the first 11 games, there have only been 2 where you can say they've truly played a bad game.

The Edmonton and Atlanta games were undeserved regulation losses. Toronto game...screwed by the refs in the middle of a 1-1 game (would be nice to get a significant call, for a change...)

After the game tonight, the Panthers now currently have the 4th best goal differential in the East.

Weiss is underachieving. Frolik is underachieving. Vokoun isn't consistently doing his thing, yet (props to Clemmensen...played well, tonight...probably gets the start in Carolina tomorrow).

Can it just make sense for once? It's been a decade without a playoff berth. Let the efforts of the next 71 be the same as the first 11; let the best players on the team play like the best players on the team.

Call the game, evenly.

I just want an 8th seed. That is all. Not even asking for a great seed. #8! I deserve it. I don't ask for much. I am just a message board whiner. #8!

I got ya covered Dash.

My one look at the Panthers this year (2-1 L to Canucks) showed them to be a young, fast hungry team.
they should have won that game. outshot the nucks considerably, if memory serves.
I hope they get on a roll, and get some confidence.

How's Dennis Wideman look? I haven't seen a Panthers game yet this year.

Reminds me of Ballard with more offense, and less hitting the goaltender.

By "reminds me of Ballard," I mean that he'll occasionally get me really excited with a play (passing...saving a game with his defense in Montreal, etc.), but then he'll also occasionally have a horrible shift, defensively (4th goal against tonight was his fault...had a horrible game in Ottawa, etc.)

All in all, I'd give him a B. He's productive on the blueline in terms of offense, and as I said, he hasn't been terrible defensively (just has his moments).

It also seems like he's accountable when he plays, badly (which, as a fan, makes him likable, imo). After that horrible game he had in Ottawa, he at least said post-game that he had a horrible game.

I would ask about Horton, but I already know the asshole has already given more effort in Boston than he ever gave here, so I'd rather not hear about him anymore. :)

Thanks for the update. In 2009 Wideman was friggin' great. In 2010 I wanted to stab him. Curious to see how his season plays out.

Well ICW it looks like the Cats can have the Sabres spot in the playoffs this year because it sure as hell looks like they won't make t.

BTW, Does this mean you will watch now?

I'm not debating this with you because it always leads to the same thing.

The Hurricanes get a fair share of calls in their favor, at all times. Last night was no different. The two penalties in the 3rd period called on McCabe last night were weak. And if the refs are going to call those penalties, they should at the very least call penalties when Booth & Dvorak were clearly tripped late in the game.

I wouldn't expect a Canes fan to agree. If my team got the majority of the calls, I'd be more than happy to just laugh at the opposing fan who "whines", too.
