So, here we are in the latest attempt to resurrect the football program. The AD hire was a winner, better than anyone expected. White did not have an easy task hiring a new HC. UT's administration follies are of legitimate concern to any candidates. The Mickie D's bag recruiting violations means that the next guy has to be NCAA rules squeaky clean. Eighteen players have entered the transfer portal. De-commits are in the news daily. Franklin jerks UT around for so long, the number two target makes up his mind against the job before he receives an offer. White staunches the bleeding by grabbing the coach from his former employer. Heupel has to build a staff. He needs a brilliant DC, but who is going to jump on the good ship Vollipop in this situation? What say you? Got a prognostication you wish to share?

If I was Huepel I would look for good talent in the G5 and even FCS, the latter is looking at some realignment and some of the true talent might jump ship for the opportunity to show their wares in the SEC.

With all the dough that UT is paying departing coaches, can they even afford an accomplished coordinator?

With that said, Major Applewhite might be a candidate on offense. He's currently an analyst for Nick Saban at Alabama.
