How many of those numbers r one picks are playing to oilers? And how many were busts? The Matt Millen of the NHL.
At least he can't draft a wide receiver.
Someone in comedy gold thread said first pick in 2009 is out of the league already. So are those overall one picks considered misses at this point ?2011 Taylor Hall
2012nugent hopkins
2013 Nail Yakupov
all playing for themm
picked 7th in 2014
3rd in 2015
I guess the Red Wings will have to do it the old fashion way; scouting, drafting low and player development. I think our last high draft pick was Martin LaPointe at number 10 in 1991. Sure would be nice to get one of these studs wearing the Winged-Wheel.
Can someone please explain how the drawing actually worked? I was watching cards being opened up from the lowest pick to the top pick. Everything was going according to the calculated probabilities. Then with three teams left (Buffalo, Arizona and Edmonton) the next card was for Edmonton and that was it...Edmonton receives the first pick with Buffalo second and Arizona third. Did they cut it short and jump to the first pick because they were running out of time on the live telecast?
