Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount on Friday for giving fans the middle finger Wednesday in Cleveland. He is appealing the ban.

Yeah...We aren't that bad...Not even close. Not too concerned about a cherrypicked stat like this that doesn't come close to telling the whole story.

I had tempered expectations for this team when realization hit that we weren't going to acquire another decent SP. However if they miss the playoffs, the disappointment will heavy.

And if they were in a division with those other 3 teams mentioned in that sh*t tweet would win it by an insane margin. I don't disagree with you on any of this. However, simply pointing out how bad the White Sox have been offensively is not cherry picking. That's really my only point here. He didn't dig for some random deep saber metric stat. He used on base percentage. No one is saying that the White Sox will remain this poor. They're merely pointing out how poor they have been to this point. Which is fair.

FWIW - the only thing that makes me nervous is the injuries. Our slumping bats will come around. However, if half of the lineup/rotation is injured. There's only so much you can overcome.

Yolbert Sánchez didn’t play during the Charlotte Knights’ 12-2 victory over the Gwinnett Stripers on Friday, but that gave him some time to soak up some adulation from MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis and Sam Dykstra.

In an article covering the best pure hitting prospect for each organization — aka the hit tool, so power is a secondary concern — Sánchez received the nod for the White Sox, even if it doesn’t acknowledge his promotion to Triple-A.

A teammate of Luis Robert on a Cuban 18-and-under squad before he defected, Sanchez has exceeded offensive expectations since signing for $2.5 million in July 2019. His compact right-handed swing and contact-oriented approach yielded a .308 average in 2021, including a .342 mark following a late-July promotion to Double-A, and he’s presently pacing the Double-A Southern League in hitting (.353) and on-base percentage (.507).

Yolbert Sanchez may make it to the White Sox this season. He may be the reason why the Sox found Madrigal expendable. He is also a top fielder.

I'm sure Bummer's injury is legit, but he was possibly a candidate for demotion regardless. The man has some good stuff, but he needs to find it again. I'm hoping they give him an extensive rehab run in AAA once he's back on the mound.
