No kidding. College games belong on college campuses
Yeah, seems really weird. I guess it’s a cool experience for the athletes but why would other countries give a **** about American CFB as a whole?

Money contracts are always the big motivator for this kind of stuff of course, NCAA out of the country is so bizarre to me though.

Notre Dame/Navy made sense in Ireland.

However, sending mid-major football programs for the better part of the last 25 years to foreign countries isn’t going to grow the brand. You need schools with a lot more name and brand recognition, and those schools will also do everything in their power not to go.

Wonder if we will get the real story behind this cancelation? Such decisions are usually based on money and/or security concerns. Geopolitics play a part?

They probably weren’t selling many tickets

That's what Matt Brown of Extra Points had surmised. He said there weren't going to be many UVA or NC State fans make the travel and hinted that the locals were being priced out.

Some enterprising journalist will make FOIA requests of both state universities for all records/correspondence regarding the game from lust to dust. Likely would make interesting reading.

I'll be attending the Wake vs Syracuse game in week 0 of 2027 in Toronto.
You ever go to any Canadian college football games? I've watched them on TV/video, but never in person. I wish I had gone to one of the Vanier Cup games when it was played in the SkyDome. Most of the games I've seen have been play-off games featuring the better U Sports football teams. Looked to about the level of competition of good 1AA play in the US.

I went to the Vanier Cup like 25 years ago but that's about the only game I've ever really watched.

I don't even really watch the CFL too much unless its summer and I need a football fix.

College football is bigger than ever in Canada right now, hope this game is a success and we see more games played here in the future.

Several years ago, I won a sports bar trivia night on the tie-breaker, "Name the only Canadian university to play American football in a US/NCAA league?"

Simon Fraser University, who last played in the D2 Lone Star Conference, dropped the sport all together a few years back. They were awful.

Oh no...all those people in Brazil who love American college football will be so disappointed. What greedy morons thought this would sell in the first place?
