The more i look at our roster, the more i see us going DB or WR early in the draft

Yes there is tons of D-line talent in this draft. But the way the GM has gone about things, added to some comments made by Gruden, I think we are going to be looking at help in the DB or WR range early in the draft. I think SMGM is gonig to try and trade back, grab a corner or safety and a WR with our first two picks, then grab some D-line help in rounds 3-5.

DO we need a center?? Sure, is it going to be a top priority.... dont think so. We might draft one, but Im thinking they are going to go more impact with the pick. I know you got a thing for the Center from Bama at the moment, BUt I think the talent at DB and WR trumps the talent at center when we are considering BPA and then factor in need.

Then with your thinking SM would be all over Treadwell at #21.

IF he is there at 21, he has to be a consideration. But then you also have to ask, why did he slide so fr when many had him as a sure fire top ten pick. I think we are going to throw out at least 15 names between now and the draft, and because we pick at 21, I think its gonig to be some one most of us had not really considered.

He is going to slip b/c of his forty time. The safe smart play would be Kelly at #21. He played it safe with Scherff last year. Sm should do it again.

He took the best player available with Scherff last year. If Kelly is the BPA at 21 this year, I could see him going that way. But I think there will be better players on the board when we pick.

Waiting on a d-lineman in this draft would make sense, especially in favor of a CB or WR. That's because the d-line is (supposedly) so rich this year, we can get an impact guy all the way into the third round. Not so for DB or WR. If we want either of those positions, we'd better take one early on knowing that we can still fill our d-line holes farther down in the draft.

Here's Todd McShay's assessment of Laquon Treadwell after his Pro Day. He believes Treadwell's 40 times are a "red flag" and will now push him down to around the 22nd to 24th pick. If true, this obviously means we'll have a shot at getting him. We might take him there, but there will also be a lot of interest in him at that spot if he does drop all way to #21.

I love how draft guys ignore couple years of game tape and move guys up and down based on 40 times. Sure a 4.65 looks bad, but .2 seconds difference to a very respectable 4.45 could be Treadwell having bad technique out of the blocks or leaning at the tape. Good thing they aren't drafting a track and field team :)

All I know is that Treadwell looks like a gamer on tape. He's obviously not an absolute burner, but guys like Derius Heyward-Bey and Mike Wallace are and we see how much that helps them. If Treadwell is SM's highest ranked player when the Skins pick at #21 I'm all good for it.

the forty time does not tell the real story I would take Treadwell in a heartbeat hell look at Dez Bryant he ran a 4.5 and even a 4.6

There are also concerns if Treadwell could separate from coverage. I agree 40 times are overblown but that is how guys get pushed down in the draft. My favorite WR in this draft is Shepard out of Oklahoma. I think he does everything very well. It's going to be interesting if Treadwell is there at #21. There should be a lot of buzz for the pick. Bryant was a better athlete than Treadwell. Plus Bryant was a head case that is why he got pushed down in the draft. I don't see that comparison at all.

Shepard is only 5'10 we need to get a big receiver haven't had one in forever that was any good

I know he small but so is Antonio Brown and Julian Eldeman. The guy just does everything right and can get open against anybody. I just think he is the best WR in this class b/c he does everything well. Just b/c a Wr is 6'2 doesn't mean he is going to succeed in the NFL.

You cant coach size Dean. A 5'10 WR that runs fast and has good route running ability doesnt trump a slightly less fast WR who can go up and get the damn thing when its 3rd and goal from the six yard line. We have lacked a GOOD WR with size for YEARS. IF one is there at 21 and we pass for another sub six footer, he better be damn near hall of fame quality.

Where are you getting this Dean? You OK man?? Center at 21? Shepard the best WR?? :)

I am with Shark. One of these positions make the most sense to me if we stick at 21. If this is the case, look for Alexander/Fuller/Apple and Coleman/Thomas to be in the mix.

I have seen several reports saying that the Redskins are very high on Thomas and may be targeting him. It would be a great pick late first/early second.

I have said before, I would not be upset with Thomas at 21. Now if Treadwell happens to be there at 21 and we take him... IM doing my happy dance for sure.

Word is the Redskins are looking WR for the draft. I think someone will take a flier on Treadwell early.... but the Skins could still use an elite field stretcher like Will Fuller.

Its going to be interesting if Doctson, Treadwell, and Thomas are all there at #21. Two out of the three should be there. Yes Vt sparks center at 21 does make sense. You have to protect your franchise QB.
