Has there ever been a lamer set of corner outfielders than Brown and Asche? They are getting outhit by a kid in center who had never played above AA before this year and Jeff Freaking Francouer! These are supposed to be the positions you get your offensive production from. Brown has had one good year, fueled in large part by one great month. Asche is now almost up to 1,000 major league plate appearances and he has never shown anything close to average production for a major league outfielder.
Bring on Williams and Altherr!

The grand experiment of the braindead Phillies FO and managerial staff are faltering badly. From misjudging flyballs that are catchable to miscommunication with Odubel to look like a total novices to you name it in poor performances, both Brown and Asche are a waste of time. Once again this organization is full of bullshit, it can't get out of its own way fast enough.

The Phillies know that they need more output from the outfield. That is the reason they traded revere. Bringing up corner outfielders from the minors would be a waste right now. They would not get enough playing time.
Amaro decided to play Brown full time this season to see if he would come around. Asche is somewhat of a disappointment right now. The power numbers are not there. I can not knock frenchy since he has done a decent job as a bench player. Next season the Phillies should work on developing corner outfielders with power. Hopefully Amaro will not be in charge then. Without Amaro this team automatically gets better. IMO.

Asche gets a pass here because of the position change. For 6 years at U of Neb. and in the minors, he was an infielder. So he loses his job to Franco and must quickly learn reacting to line drives and fly balls and communicating. Sounds easy but this can be difficult for outfielders have played the position for years. He is trying to reach the comfort zone where his natural instincts will take over. I just think he'll learn from each stupid play and get better. Regardless, others guys will be competing for his job in the next year or two.
