I think you may mean Rob has directed Redick not to play him, DJ. Maybe Walter needs to step in and direct this mess that has gotten to epic proportions of crazy!
I meant JJ doesn't play him.

It's still early.....LOL.

Outside of trading for Kessler and signing Grimes and Sexton these are some typical Rob Pelinka bullshit signings.

Anti-Mamu I see. He's capable of doing more than Rui, who was basically just a shooter. Apparently he agreed with the Clips at the start of free agency.

What other center did you want to sign? The only other respectable free agent was Richards, and we don't know what his demands are. Plus, Looney had a good mentor relationship with Kuminga with the Warriors, could be very useful if the land Kuminga.

Hope he gets fired next summer.

Should have been looking at a bunch of 1 year deals so they could go big game hunting next summer.

Disagree. Enough of this kicking the can down the road stuff. They made their picks for fits around Luka and made their moves. Whether or not they're the right guys we'll find out by next summer.

Part of it is Rob doesn't play him.

Kid needs to play to get his confidence back which he seems to have lost.

The only part Rob has in it is that ball-fake trade that destroyed his confidence. JJ is the one limiting his minutes, too many mental errors in addition to the shooting struggles. Maybe having his teammate Carr on the squad will help re-set him.

Lakers are holding on the Kuminga trade because they don’t want to include that First Round pick swap. The update is the Lakers want to include Knecht and make the trade a Vanderbilt/Knecht for Kuminga trade! Atlanta is not presently interested!!

I think there's a lot of bargaining misinformation floating around. The rumor of a swap and Vando being enough had to be misinformed (or intentionally leaked by the Lakers). Offering 10m per was an extreme low ball offer, so Kuminga countered with 25m per. Atlanta already has too many players on their roster, a third team was likely always needed (one of the cap space teams, Nets or Bulls).

The Hawks have a certain 2nd round pick center that they sniped from LA, would love to add him to the mix and help out the Hawks with their glut of players lol.

Since nobody wants Knecht (unless Atlanta excepts the trade proposal of Vanderbilt/Knecht for Kuminga), Knecht just may remain with the Lakers and begin a development program to bring this kid out of a fairly dark rabbit hole he is presently in!

Lakers cleaning house!

The Los Angeles Lakers have officially renounced the free agent rights to LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Dion Waiters, Luke Kennard, Marcus Smart, Maxi Kleber, Nick Smith Jr, Jared Dudley, Avery Bradley, Jaxson Hayes, Markieff Morris, and Wayne Ellington, HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto revealed Wednesday.

Some of these dudes go back a ways!

Apparently the Lakers are keeping for now LaRavia (who just signed a new contract), Vanderbilt, Knecht, and Bronny who is under contract! All are listed on the 2026-2027 Lakers Roster.

This may all change if the Lakers work out their proposed trade for Kuminga with Atlanta which is dying by the minute!!

That 2026-2027 Lakers roster also has Christian Koloko listed as a Center! Apparently the two-way contract with Atlanta expired and he was released as a UFA!

LaRavia signed a 2 year deal last summer.

I just watched a story on YouTube as LaRavia was commentating on the Summer League Dallas/LA Game that he was asked about his new contract by an associate commentator!

I haven’t either except for the Dallas/LA Summer League commentating vid! I haven’t seen any report of Koloko being signed but there he is on the Lakers 2026-2027 Roster! Go Figure, I suppose!!

I am seeing more and more warnings from some very reputable basketball pundits who are stating the Lakers should drop the Kuminga trade idea and go with LaRavia, James, Vanderbilt, and Knecht for now! Many are likening the Lakers interest in Kuminga to the same mistake trap the Lakers made with douchebag boy Ayton who was once again shipped off to yet another team because the hype is so much greater than the player delivering on the hype. Kuminga is now in that category as Ayton and the Lakers have no business entertaining a First Round pick swap with Atlanta let alone sending decent players for a total fraud/pile of DOGSHIT like Jonathan Kuminga who has been already traded twice by teams who found out the hard way what a waste of resources this guy is!!!
