Who says nothing original is made anymore? A war flick told through the eyes and understandings of a 10 year old child. Brilliant.

Ava on Netflix.

Lots of violent killing. Held my interest.

Not bad at all.

I thought it was ok, but I went in with really high hopes for the movie. I like Waititi and still thought the movie was good, but I went in with this Wes Anderson vibe that never really paid off. Probably my fault on expectations lol. I think I gave it a 7/10 in my initial review.

I just like the originality. Once I “got it”, the movie could do wrong in my eyes because of the story telling technique. If I were to watch it again, I trust my long-term ranking would drop.

It actually reminded me a lot of Baby Driver in the uniqueness.

The Strongest Man in the World (1975)

The second of the 3 “Dexter Riley” movies. Complete brainless fun. Those ‘70s Disney movies had a certain charm. I think I may go back and watch a few more of them.

But seriously.... This movie is about a college that wants to sell their steroids to a cereal company to inject into their product. Oh, the innocence of the 60s/70s...

I would agree with that. Originality definitely scores points in the current world of remakes, reboots, and spin offs. I also thought Baby Driver was pretty good. Didn't care for the last 20 or minutes, but overall found it entertaining.

I'm Your Woman (2020)

This was a strange movie. It had a plot without it ever really feeling like it had a plot. Pretty much from start to finish you have no idea as to the what or the why, but only the how. It was extremely difficult to stay interested in this movie. It drags a lot, and it provides next to nothing to keep you enthralled. The acting was decent, and it had a somewhat satisfying ending, but that's it. For the rest of the movie I kept asking myself why I'm still watching it.

Sound of Metal

Not as good as I was expecting, but it has been getting great buzz. Big star-turn for Ahmed, though. He will likely be nominated for best actor and it might solidly establish him as a leading man moving forward.

I really enjoyed the movie personally.

But yeah, hes a really really good actor. Hopefully he starts getting more big time roles cause everything I've seen him in he delivers(even Venom in a generic villain role he did better than you should expect).

I watched Ma Raineys Black Bottom. Chadwicks final role.

Yeah. He's really, really fucking good. When he wins the statue its not gonna be some pity award. Like Ledger, he earned it.

Mary Magdalene. Joaquin Phoenix as Jesus so I gave it a try. It was just tedious.

My son and his girlfriend are here for the weekend. She used her code and set up amazon prime for us.

What are some of the movies/series I should be looking for?

It was a strange movie. They tried to be cute by leaving out the details needed at the beginning. Leaving viewers wondering what the hell is going on. Half the reason viewers continued to watch. Wanting to figure out the missing detail. Show was OK I guess, but I won’t recommend it to anyone .

Gone Baby Gone. I hadn't seen this one.. apparently I'd confused it with Gone Girl which I had seen.. and both being Affleck flicks. I enjoyed it. 8/10

Both really good movies.

Agreed. I'd passed on watching Gone Baby Gone on cable several times thinking I'd seen it. My wife said let's watch it last night. I said I've seen it but it was good and awhile ago, so ok. I soon realized I hadn't seen it.
