Saw Chinatown.

The movie ended and the wife said 'f@&! Roman Polanski'

I'd say the movie was a success.

But...

Polanski is a great guy and the mere mention of his name aught to result in standing ovations.

Right?

The first half of her sentence was 'I know this is a classic but...'

The funny thing about the movie is that it basically has the same plot as the Baywatch reboot outside of the ending. Or at least I find that funny that a noir classic and a cheesy action movie have the same anti-capitalism underpinnings.

The Baywatch reboot has the same plot as Chinatown? The 2017 Baywatch with Zac Efron? The 2017 Baywatch that got like a 17% on RT? That movie has the same plot as Chinatown?

WHAT.THE.FUCK.

This is why everyone thinks you’re a robot masquerading as a human.

Papillon (1973): 3/5 stars. 1973 movie starring Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman, directed by Franklin J. Schaffner (director of Planet of the Apes (1968): 3/5 stars and Patton: 3.5/5 stars).

It was a decent, if not mildly uninteresting film. I would say the ending saved it from a bad review.

A robot would be quoting rotten tomatoes and not plot points.

Saw Oceans 8.

Ok, so at what point in casting some of the best actors in Hollywood did someone think that Rihanna belonged? They definitely could've cast a better black actress.

The ending scene really sums up the issue with the movie: Sandra Bullock's character is poorly written and lacking the romantic interest that made Clooneys character work. The soundtrack is great and you move through the heist with good pace but the whole movie comes off as mostly pointless.

The real sexists are the people who couldn't find a way to make Sandra Bullock likable, human or dynamic like she is in almost every other movie. I realize that a feminist would say that she doesn't need to be any of those things but that actually one of the most important parts of these Oceans movies.

Oceans 8 is basically the complete opposite of Logan Lucky. Sandra Bullock is
a villain. Not a misunderstood villain. Not a nice person in a bad situation. She is just a bad person trying to get revenge on an ex-boyfriend and to prove her worth to her brother
Thats her whole character. The movie gets hijacked
by Anne Hathaway because of it and the movie is at least halfway decent when it focuses on her.

Still, the whole thing is mostly a waste of time like Oceans 12.

I pretty much agree. My wife and some of the chicks from the office wanted to see it, so a bunch of us went. I agree on Rihanna--if that's the look they wanted, why not use Letitia Wright, the Black Panther's little sister? There are some great actresses in it and THIS writing and plot lines are the best they could do with them? It was very underwhelming.

The wife said 'do you want to watch Oceans 8 or the new Jurassic Park' and I liked Oceans 11 and Logan Lucky enough to think Oceans 8 might be decent.

I really don't like any of the Jurassic Park movies, tbh. The first one was good for its time but....meh....

Did you have to check your man-card in when you paid?
