Just from the previews, it seems like another Hollywood ham-fisted "girlpower" movie.

I read somewhere a couple months back that McCarthy is supposed to REALLY good in this.

While I am none interested in this movie, it is interesting to watch actors/actresses reinvent themselves. Tom Hanks did it 30 years ago. John Travolta kinda did it 25 years ago. It kinda looks like McCarthy has been doing it the last few years.

The movie can suck while still having good acting performances.

I still have no idea who she is. Absolutely nothing she has done has crossed my monitor. Ever.

I've watched it several times and thoroughly enjoyed it. I own it. Melissa McCarthy was excellent. I love seeing actors/actresses go from comedy to drama and succeed. She was very convincing.

I'm no fan of the girl power era either, but in this case it was well done. I never really felt the girl power thing being shoved down my throat. All three simply needed a way to make a living when their bread winning husbands were doing time.

Bill Camp as Alfonso Coretti was bad ass. I loved his performance.

Overall, a pretty damn good film. I highly recommend it.
