I've left Simmons out of the discussion, other than as trade value. I'm talking more about Curry.
I get that, but if Simmons trade value wasn't shit, the Sixers might not have had to trade Curry.

while I like what Harden has brought to the team, I think they can put something together that is better for next season.

Simmons put them in such a bad spot...fucking asshole.

....Simmons is the reason you have Harden though.

As far as next season, Sixers are limited to trades and the taxpayer MLE.

I get that.

that's how trades work.

but Simmons is also the reason we had to trade for Harden.

and also the reason we had to throw in Curry and Drummond and 2 firsts.

Something had to be included to bridge the $14M gap from Simmons' salary to Harden's. Danny Green is a tough sell at this point. If they had traded for McCollum, no salary gap (and maybe that happens earlier in the season?)

Would you be happy with Simmons playing defense and taking no shots as your PG this season?

luckily Green has been stellar during the playoffs.

I think Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith actually laugh at this dude’s hot takes. He’s off on nearly every point he’s tried to make.

Show me the complete, healthy season from Embiid in his pro career. This has been Embiid's healthiest season thus far, but still was only 68 of 82 games (and 2 more missed this postseason).

I'm not sure. Like I said earlier, one of the things about Harden is that he draws a defender and helps pull the double team off Embiid. Simmons didn't do that because he was never a threat beyond the 3-pt line.

He has stepped up his shooting in the postseason (albeit with a few bad games, but also a few excellent ones).

it's essentially what we would have gotten from Curry, IMO

Man, McCollum would be a nice fit too but apparently Maxey cannot play full-time PG. Still don't think that is a huge issue. CJ and Maxey can both play PG at times. They won't have the facilitator they have with Harden but Mccollum is more efficient, a better shooter and better defender.

Who knows how really the McColllum rumors were, but that always seemed like an interesting fit to me.
while nothing is over until it is over...

what they do in the offseason will be interesting

The first option is extremely likely.
The second option is less than 1% chance he takes $25M/year lol. The Cavs have a better chance to win the lottery this year than that.
Whenever it’s time for his next deal, that’s all he can reasonably command…25-30 a year.
