The Giants will eventually come out the other side

A really good movie is Shawshank Redemption where a innocent man Andy Dufresne is sentenced to life in prison . While in prison he inspires others even though he has been given a bum wrap. There is a scene in which he has just been locked in the hole for 1 month for playing a record over the loud speaker of beautiful Italian Opera singers for all the prisoners who were able to be free even if it was for a few moments.

After he gets out they start talking about hope. Andy Dufresne was full of hope and never quit hoping. Red the character played by Morgan Freeman tells Dufresne that hope can be a dangerous thing especially in prison. Dufresne would never lose hope. He eventually broke out ,digging a tunnel and busting out through a sewage pipe crawling about a mile through it to get to a clean river and living free down in Mexico.

The Giants in a way were sent to baseball prison this year but they have given the Giants fans joy winning two World Series Championships. They will eventually break out and as they swim through this years sewage pipe they will come out the other side , be free and they give us hope for the next year because they have hope.

My favorate quote from the movie goes like this...

Andy Dufresne to Red..."Hope is a good thing,maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies".

Hope is what keeps bringing fans back each year to maybe see their team achieve greatness.

I have hope for next year.
