The Giants have to drop the hammer right now

These first 10-12 games of the second half are the most important of the year for the Giants if they want to catch the Dodgers in the West. The Dodgers head out on a Eastern 10 game swing that takes them to Washington for 3..Atlanta for 3.and New York for 4 games. I hope it's 100 degrees and muggy the whole trip for them. The Giants get 3 in Arizona...3 in SD..3 at home against a A's team that is down right now..and Milwaukee for 3 at home.

They have to make up some ground right now before their August tough schedule kicks in.

Absolutely. With the August schedule looming, the Giants have to win AT LEAST 12 of the next 18. They probably need more than that, but that needs to be the low-bar to shoot for.

If they shit the bed over the next 10, it changes everything. Yep, win two-thirds or plan for next year.
