I also think that as long as position players can’t win the act Young, pitchers shouldn’t be eligible for MVP.

I agree that it should not be, but that is not how the arguments I read go.
Either I didn’t articulate well or you read it wrong. Former is probable

Acuna sitting at 40HR/37SB with 8 games left. We are pretty much locked into the 2 seed so I’m guessing he will be stealing no matter what when he gets on base these last 8 games

Currently, yes, but given the age difference and the fact Acuna took a bargain bin deal that Yelich will be too greedy to do, I'd take Acuna going forward.

How so? link?

Yelich still under a bargain contract for 2 years with a 3rd year team option.

2020 $12.5 million
2021 $14 million
2022 $15 million with $1.25 million buyout.

He may be too expensive for the Brewers by then, but Braun's $20+million is gone after next year.

I see Yelich possibly getting a 5-6 year contract in the $30 million plus range

Perhaps not. But to say he is too greedy not to is pretty presumptuous.

Well Yelich wasn't 6 years away from free agency, which is what Acuna was when he signed his deal (so instead of making $500K a few of those years he took the immediate payday).

Overall, he probably saved the Braves somewhere around $30-40M over the next 10 years.

much easier to sign someone to a team-friendly contract when they're in their second MLB season or years away from free agency than someone about to hit free agency.

Yep..he's due to make about $123.5M over 10 years if his two option years are picked up, so potentially giving up 4 free agent years. Say he would've made $28M/yr over those 4 FA years had he tested the market, $10M/yr on average in the 4 preceding arbitration years and had the 2 years when he's making close to league minimum, that comes out to about $155ish million.

It's still $ he gave up, but in relative terms to baseball payrolls, it's only around $3-4M a year he probably left on the table.
