Mainly the only surprise to me is the inclusion of Iowa State. Really didn't think Iowa State would've been included.

Where was UCF ranked in the first poll last season?

They've got them ahead of 1 loss West Virginia

Also surprised to see Washington State and Kentucky ranked ahead of Ohio State.

But really, if I were a West Virginia fan, I'd be pretty pissed that they're the only 1 loss P5 team ranked behind UCF and ranked behind a 2 loss team already eliminated from their division.

But this is an even year, and Saban has only won a natty once in an even year, and the team ranked first in the first playoff rankings has yet to go on to win the Natty.

Natty not on a platter for Bama.

It looks like none of this really matters. This weekend matchups are going to throw all these tiny little numbers next to our teams and change the top 1-10. Like I mentioned earlier this year, its just a matter of opinion. And some people in this forum doesn't get that.
I know my team is not getting to the NCG and thats ok with me, but for those teams involved. Id wait until the end of the year. like whats happens every year.

It creates discussion, and that's what this site is for.

No, it creates bickering, and yelling on the internet. but ya if its fun discussion, i'm all for it. I guess we could guess where our teams will end up at the end of the regular season, then guess where they land in a bowl game. That's what we do on this site right?

Might have an outside shot this year if Notre Dame slips up.

We would need a lot of upsets to happen. If we can continue this into next year, maybe next year we might have a legit shot.

I actually agree with LSU at #3 and Georgia at #6. Where do you think Georgia should be? Should Oklahoma be ranked over Georgia? Because Oklahoma has a worse loss than Georgia. Same can be said about Washington State.

Iowa state is not a team you want to play now, especially in Ames, OU was fortunate to get that one done early.

If I heard them correctly, none of UCF's wins are over teams that have .500 records or better. (Pitt and Memphis are at .500.)

UConn 1-7
SC State
FAU 3-5
Pitt 4-4
SMU 3-5
Memphis 4-4
East Carolina 2-5
