Redskins getting strong contributions from five 2015 draft picks

the thing here is scherf hasnt had his qb hit the ground on his watch just 6 pressures given up as a freaking rookie same as trent

trent is heading to the pro bowl so the kid is playing at a high level and so far appears to be a spectacular pick

preston smith is fighting through maturity issues but has 2 sacks

crowder has taken over in the slot and is a key security blanket on 3rd down

jarret has probably been the biggest surprise of all playing nickel as a safety

and matt jones has played well

when was the lat time we had a draft with this kind of early success?

The draft is working out well. Smith, Jones, Crowder, and Kojo could all be starters next year. I agree Jarret is the biggest surprise. He is the reason why they let Amerson go. But Amerson was crap anyways but still it should be recognized.

Scherff at guard was a pretty safe bet to work out, again my opposition to the pick was never based on that issue. Still not sure about Smith, like Murphy he just looks slow, but he's played well. I kind of felt confident about the Matt Jones pick. Crowder was my favorite pick and knew he would contribute, just not this soon. No question Jarret is a surprise so far.

Rebuilding means that you're essentially taking out the old in favor of the new. However in order to do that there must be a talented set of eyes (and his team) that evaluates starters for what they actually are, then selects players that are either instant upgrades or talented enough to push those starters for increased playing time. How often have we been told (QB's excepted) that new guys will need two or three years to develop? Under SM that trend thankfully, at long last, seems to have come to an end!!
