Things are nuts. There is a lot of rumors and news flying around right now, but here are a few things:

1. OU and OSU ARE a package deal.....

2. ND and Texas DID NOT approach the B1G with a list of demands for what they would need to join. Anyone who believed that nonsense, needs to give it some thought. Really....two schools, one in a conference where legal documents are flying around like envelopes of cash in the SEC) go to a different conference to present a plan. Yeah, that is legal and above board and.....smart... :L

3. Mizzou to the SEC may not happen now as something nasty is coming out of the SEC/aTm/Baylor documents. Mizzou is gone though. bank on it.

4. FSU is back in play for the SEC, but it is a reach....

5. The reason for the demise of the Big 12 is one thing....uneven revenue sharing......

6. The Big East is feeling a ton of heat and calling every team on the planet about expansion. The basketball conference already has like 43 teams, so it is kind of funny.

It is going to be a fun few weeks. I sent some emails out this morning and will be back with more if I hear anything.

I kind of figured the Big East had to be in panic mode right now. I hope they invite Northern Illinois and Central Michigan. That shit would be funny.

Why are teams like A&m and Ou taking the lead leaving the conference when they are the beneficiaries of the inequality?

Texas in the main beneficiary, not OU and certainly not A&M.

Those schools are two and three and I may be wrong here but I thought those three all got the same amount.

Texas or more precisely ESPN tried a couple of things this year that really set things in a tail spin.
One being trying to force Texas Tech to allow them to broadcast their game. This was done by telling them that ESPN and ABC would no longer carry their games. Basically ESPN told them if you want to get on tv it will be the Longhorn Network or nothing.

Another thing was trying to broadcast high school football.

Both of these put other schools at a disadvantage in revenue generation and recruiting. And of course competitive schools were going to be hurt worse than schools that were just along for the ride. Thus why A&M who had options called bullshit.

Those are good reasons and I agree with them but that's not revenue sharing.

But they are straws that broke the camels back. Unequal revenue sharing is what promoted the culture of I am better than you. When it was only at the bottom the bottom feeders were happy to get crumbs from the table.

As it started to effect others by the increasing infringements and the 'they are what holds this conference together 'mentality from Beebe, it became more of an issue culminating in what they have now.

But unequal revenue sharing was the birth place.

Instability was the original issue..

It's why Missouri originally began looking elsewhere, Colorado left, Nebraska left and now Texas A&M are looking for an out.

Nebraska looks awfully smart for getting out when they did....

There were two wise men that didn't want to play mind games.

"One school leaving a conference does not destroy a conference," Perlman said. "Nebraska did not start this discussion. After the Big Ten announced it planned to consider expansion, we saw reports that Missouri would want to go to the Big Ten, including a statement by their governor, a member of board of curators and chancellor -- comments that weren't clearly supportive of the Big 12."

Athletic director Tom Osborne, the longtime football coach, agreed.

"As we read the tea leaves and listened to the conversations, some of the schools that were urging us to stay, we found some of them had talked to not only one other conference or two but even three, and those were the same ones urging us to stay," he said.

So they got out while the gettin' was good.

Of course it's not "above board", but that's the nature of these things.

There's nothing illegal about it.

It never happened. That Northwestern idiot was literally just making shit up. His info has been proven wrong time and again. he posts something like that about once a year to get some hits.

Tool is the ultimate poser band. This clown knows nothing about realignment.
