I though Zobrist should be lead off day one.
He's a switch hitter, he works the count and he could care less about power, and he's a terrific bunter.
Schwarber should be clean up or fifth hitter.

And both Rizzo and Schwarber should consider bunting against the shift.

The
Schwarber experiment as a lead off hitter is a fail.... that much I'm convinced of....

Zobrist does not play every day, so its consistency that Joe is looking for. He is trying not to have multiple people.

It's not a lead off problem it is a LF problem that was obviously coming. When everyone is healthy the everyday OF should be Zobrist in LF, Almora in CF and Heyward in RF. Even in 2015 it was clear that Schwarber was a worse fielding Adam Dunn. His average plummeted and his K rate skyrocketed after pitchers saw him and teams developed a scouting report on him. The Indians were not prepared because they didn't have film on him due to missing a year and a few games made people expect a lot more than they will ever get from him.

Just like when Theo should have traded Castro after the 2014 fluke he waited a year too long to move Schwarber.

While I agree they are committed to Schwarber and he's going to stay there all year. He should end up with a line around .230/.350/.450.
