I believe the head guy stated he’s always had a 5 season arc planned and so if that’s true we’re barely past the halfway point.

Yeah I've seen in interviews where hes basically implied 5-6 seasons was the inital thought. But hes flat out said thats not gurantee and it could go much longer.

Keep in mind, this guy did Supernatural which was about 100 seasons.

As someone who has browsed what goes down in the comics

Lets just say, the show is going much different.

Yeah, I read the comics years ago, but after season one, the show has REALLY deviated from the books. Season one took many liberties as well, but it was the closest to the books.

I actually am enjoying that. The show at its core is still the same but I like that it’s going in a different direction(mainly HL and his “mask” but that’s all I’ll say), makes it feel like a new entry and not just a straight copy.

Yeah, with the death of Noir, it leaves open a possibility to return to one of the big things in the comic. It could be huge.

dont get me wrong... i will love it if this show goes the distance... It is possibly my favourite show on tv right now...

Im just worried about story line... as i dont think i ever want a new bad guy besides Homelander, nor do i ever want a new Hero team besides some combination of Butcher, Hughie, SL, Kimiko,etc...

and i dont know if it will work again to have another big bad to distract them, like season 2 and 3...

Just finished season 3. I'm really enjoying it, though Urban (Butcher) & Starr (Homelander) are the only ones who really pull off the emotional relationships scenes and there seem to be more of those as they go along. Starr actually elevates them because as others have mentioned the writing is not great. But his Homelander is a villain for the ages.

About to finish the first season tonight; This show is great! I wonder what the bloody hail took me so long to get around to giving it a go?!

So far Homelander is my favorite character. For some reason I like evil Superman archetypes (HL and Bright Burn) but I'm not big into Superman himself? What people say about The Watchmen I totally see in The Boys... a total deconstruction of super heroes and what they would be like in real life. Thank goodness there's two more season for me to binge watch! I'll post back in here after so I don't run into any spoilers.
