On my way to Yosemite in May, entered Death Valley at the East entrance at route 190. Some of the strangest landscapes you'll see. Elevations range from 284 feet blow sea level to 11,000 feet. Temperatures in the 70s-80s in the morning, later mid-90s, perfect for May.

Death Valley Inn, perfect place for a brew and a few of the best tacos around.

Ubehebe Crater, a volcanic crater 600 feet deep and half-mile across. Estimated to be 2,000 to 7,000 years old.

I love the California desert! Good shots. :suds: I've spent a lot of time on enduro motorcycles in the San Diego County deserts in a 30-mile radius of Ocotillo Wells.
