On my way to Yosemite in May, entered Death Valley at the East entrance at route 190. Some of the strangest landscapes you'll see. Elevations range from 284 feet blow sea level to 11,000 feet. Temperatures in the 70s-80s in the morning, later mid-90s, perfect for May.
