King Karl insulted a fan during the Wake Forest-Louisville game on Sunday. The fan just so happened to be former vice chairman of the Wake Forest Board of Trustees and Atlanta hotel magnate, Mit Shah. Apparently Shah was heckling Hess over a bad call, when Hess responded “When I’m older, I want to sit in your seat & watch your Egyptian ass ref a game,”

Karl Hess has been the worst referee of all. The golden rule of referees is to block out the crowd and concentrate specifically on the game and the game only when making calls. Every official will be heckled. Hess just cannot keep from conversing with the crowd. He was the official that kicked out Corciani and Gugliotta at a home NC State game.

I say good riddance Karl Hess.
