Wait wait wait... You guys are looking at this all wrong... Before the trade I thought damn Mebert might have me at corner but it's close, it all comes down to if you think Dieon is better than Rod Woodson, because Chuckwood is IMO a little better than Mike Haynes... After the trade I have the best secondary in the draft without question! :yes:
Maybe

I would have created my BPA list from 1-100 then put their $ by their name. Then you could see where the biggest value picks are in the draft. I wouldn't be focusing on having best at 1 position but piecing together the value picks with a fewer higher priced players. I would also constantly figure out how much I had left per player. This draft is like fantasy football where a good game plan before the draft would make a world of difference.

Yeah you have to have a gameplan in this draft but it is important to update your players and positions needs and salary per position every so often. Sounds like a good plan to me and having backup plans is even more key in this draft than other ones.

I am frustrated about the whole thing, but mainly because it is not as bad as you are making it out to be. I will post more on it after my next pick as an example
I think you made a fantastic point about the rounds not mattering as much as the $$ in a capped draft. If we could name drop, I see at least 5 guys still on the board that are top 10-15 picks in any other draft

I agree but Deion at only $8, that value is very hard to beat. That extra $5 helps a lot though.

Yes but taking Albert Hanesworth you have to pay by the pound

This draft is pretty unique and it's been a real challenge for me to find value. I'm not nearly as knowledgeable on football and baseball as I am on basketball but I do/did have a certain plan in mind. Sort of starting to take shape now, but still too early to really tell. Glad I haven't been laughed off the board so far.

It makes it as though Deion is costing me $13. I will say this...Mebert told me some of the players he is targeting with the extra money, and if he gets those two, and you lined up Mark Haynes and those two against Deion and whoever I get with his 21st and 22nd rounders, the trade won't look lopsided at all...

Mebert gets Gary Zimmerman with $7, has Mark Haynes $3, still has an extra pick next round and $3 extra in cap space...suddenly, the clouds open....

Okay, since we are still talking about this. Let's just be honest, the picks you gave Mebert do not matter at all there is still good players available at nearly every position. Fact is no matter who he picks now the value is not nearly what he had in Deion. Why not trade Woodson who was actually $9 or Bruce Smith who was $13? Neither of those players are as valuable in the draft as Deion is and he would have been saving more money with either of them.

If you just step back and look at this trade for what it is you will see this was as one-sided a trade as we have ever had. The 10th and 12th round picks mean absolutely nothing, so he got $5, Five Dollars for what most people consider the best Corner available. To think Mark Haynes is even in the same league as Deion is insane, he's not top 50 CB available in this draft.

Even if he turns that $10 into a better offensive line it will not have the impact that Deion would have had. So now instead of a few $5 linemen he can get a few $8 linemen. As someone who has been in every NFL draft we have ever done I can tell you, Deion holds more weight than a better than average offensive line and it's not close.

Like I said before, it's not a big deal, let's just continue to have fun with our drafts I do not wanna argue with anyone but to try to somehow show this trade wasn't one-sided is ridiculous...

I think people are confusing Mark Haynes with Mike Haynes. Kinda like Nos did when he tried to tell me that Lester Hayes was better. :D

@Pack 500

I have Roger Wehrli. Maybe we can work out a 3 way trade with UK where I get Deion for a couple bucks and you can have Wehrli.

I say a 4-team trade. I get a player, everyone can chip in.

You know it would be cool to come up with like a 6 team trade, I think the most teams we ever had involved in a trade was 3. I know UK and I have worked on getting 4 team trades done but Ritz always wanted more so...
