Very true...though it wasn't my intention to make Russell the center of attention in this thread. I was more saying that a player's name and reputation doesn't always live up to the production on the field. It caught me by surprise when I looked up the stats so I thought I shared it with everyone and see what discussion came of it

Sure it wasn't.....

In my book, Russell Wilson is the number 5 QB in the league behind Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, and Luck. He's a much different breed at the QB position though.

Here are the 4 quarterback's playoff numbers from the past 3 seasons. Can you guess which stat line belongs to which quarterback?

a) 89.1 QB Rating 8 tds 3 ints
b) 109.6 QB Rating 9 tds 1 int
c) 77.7 QB Rating 9 tds 10 ints
d) 101.8 QB Rating 7 tds 2 ints

b) Wilson.
Damn !Wilson's got a good QBR. Can you imagine how good he'd be if he had any receivers????

Here's where I rank them, regardless of this minuscule three year window.

A) Rodgers
B) Brady
C) Wilson
D) Luck

Of these 4 QB's, only Seattle would have made the playoffs without a top flight QB. Take any of the other three QB's from their teams and their respective teams don't make the playoffs.

I could put Luck over Wilson but not over Brady. I think Luck is better than Wilson in every way except he throws ill advised, interceptible passes that Wilson doesn't.

I see where you're getting at and there's some truth in what you're saying...but I disagree. Yes, Seattle does arguably have the most talented roster minus the QB (Pats are a close 2nd in my opinion), but I don't see any way this team makes the playoffs had Tavaris Jackson been in Russell's place.

You can make the argument that Seattle may have had the best chance to make the playoffs (out of these 4) if they had lost their starting QB. But with the playoff benchmark being 11 wins this year...there's no way Tavaris (as much as I respect him as a backup) would have gotten the job done.

I also see what you are getting at and would agree if not for the respect I have for the Seattle coaching staff. I don't think they allow him to make the mistakes he has in the last and form a game plan he can run without making huge mistakes. The Niners imploded and Arizona did late. I still could see the Hawks winning the division. I like Wilson as a QB but I don't put a lot of stock in his playoff performances because he had such s stellar running game and incredible defense. To his credit, he didn't make huge mistakes and made plays when needed. He's a great young QB.

Seattle fans make yet another thread about how awesome Wilson is. Can we start merging these or something?

Just for reference, Russell's only official interception was the Hail Mary on the last play of his only playoff loss, against Atlanta. It wasn't really a legitimate interception at all.

He also got his first Super Bowl win against Peyton Manning; who conistantly plays at a level comparable to Jim Drunkenmiller in the play offs. We wouldn't want to claim that Super Bowl to not be really legitimate, would we?

When it comes to threads like this, just look what team the OP is a fan of and you will know who the best stats belong to if you don't already know.

True at least 95% of the time.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as I was calling you out or insinuating you only posted to make Russell the center of it all. I meant it as neutral observation that I didn't word very well.

It won't help. They are everywhere.

I found 3 of them as I was cleaning out my basement last week.

Just for accuracy's sake, this is passer rating and not QB rating. QBR is on a scale of 100.

No matter how you rank them, probably the league's 4 best QBs are still playing. Best argument against that is probably about putting Big Ben up there. Only Cutler turned it over more than Luck this year, so that's probably who I would bump.

I would flip Brady and Rodgers but otherwise this is how I see it. All 4 of them are great and I do look forward to 10 years of Luck/Wilson debates.

Three #12's. Interesting. Three of these things are kind of together, three of these things are kind of the same. One of these kids is doing his own thing. Now it's time to play our game...it's time to play our game.

One thing that annoys me is people here (and the talking heads) Dismiss all of Lucks turnovers. He had the most turnovers on this list. He had the most turnovers in the league this year (for people not named Cutler) yet he gets a pass for some reason.

People say he has no talent around him, but thats also not true. His weapons are legit, TY is a star, Allen and Fleener are both above average TE's. Wayne is a future HOF. Moncreif is a nice young find.

He's a great qb yes, but he automatically gets a pass into the arodgers brady conversation, when it would take brady and rod 3 years combined to equal the amount of to's luck had this year.

Neat,

so IF Seattle wins the SB this year, they would become the 12th team to repeat.

also, they would have beaten two opposing QB's wearing the #12, in the NFC Championship and the Super Bowl.
