Stockton is the perfect point guard in these mocks. He is an accurate shooter, with a higher shooting percentage than most F/Cs. Also accurate from 3. He facilitated better than anyone, and played as smart a game of basketball as there has been. Through his prime, Stockton produced and average of 44 ppg for his team, similar to what guys like LeBron and KD do, Stockton just did it without the ego of having to be the one who shot the ball. He made defenses play the entire floor, as just because he didn’t have to be the one to shoot didn’t mean he couldn’t.

That doesn’t add that he was a plus defender, which is even more impressive since everyone thinks he wasn’t as athletic as the guys he was covering. Again, he just played the position smarter than most others.

Personally, I like facilitators at PG more than scorers.

All I am saying is Mookie blaylock is better for these mocks because he is similar facilitator and defender, and you can get him in the last rounds... AND get a Great player in round 2 or 3...

Per36 .515FG% .3843P% .826FT% 3.1REB 11.9AST 2.5STL 0.2BLK 14.9PTS

Per36 .409FG% .3363P% .736FT% 4.2REB 6.9AST 2.4STL 0.3BLK 13.9PTS

I can’t see any reason to think these two are “similar” except that Blaylock put up similar defensive numbers. Passing on Stockton because you can get a “similar” player like Blaylock later is like passing on David Robinson because you can get a Shawn Bradley later because he blocked shots, too.

I did text Smitty to repack and everyone needs to post their team so we can start the playoff.

My top 10 PG's of all time:

1) Magic Johnson
2) Oscar Robertson
3) John Stockton
4) Stephen Curry
5) Gary Payton
6) Isiah Thomas
7) Steve Nash
8) Walt Frazier
9) Jason Kidd
10) Chris Paul

Think eventually Curry can creep up to the 3rd spot, but that will likely be his peak. I don't realistically think he can get above Magic or Oscar unless he wins another MVP and likely another title or two WITHOUT KD. 4-6 were really tough for me to rank to be honest. I think Isiah Thomas doesn't get the recognition he should being the leader or two championship teams. But Glove's defense puts him just slightly ahead of him. And Curry's offense is really otherworldly and he's changed the entire game, so that gives him the nod above those two, IMO.

7-10, I think is a bit interchangeable for me.
