The 2020 Denver Broncos Offensive Line

I'd like to get everyone's thoughts on what we could do to improve the offensive line, who we should retain and who is expendable ..

A few bits of info:

- Connor McGovern will be a free agent .. After sliding over from his spot at guard, I feel that McGovern has done, for the most part, a good job at center .. Do we bring McGovern back, and if so, do we keep him at center or does he go back to his spot at RG ?? .. This leads me to the next point:

- Ronald Leary is signed thru 2020 ( will be a FA in 2021 ), but we save 8.5 million on the cap if he's let go prior to June 1st 2020 … Leary's play has fallen off quiet a bit, and injuries will always be a factor with him … It might be the safe move to keep him one more year, sign Mc Govern and have Risner at LG, thus solidifying the interior of the OL ….

Another option would be to let Leary go, draft a stud C like Tyler Biadasz, resign McGovern and move him back to RG … That, to me, would be a better scenario ...

Risner, Biadasz and McGovern would look great

Of course, depth is always a concern, but to keep from overwhelming the situation, I'm sticking more with the 5 starters ..

This leaves, IMHO, two of Elway's biggest mistakes ( and I'm a fan of JE as GM ) …. I'm not sure of the situation with James, but for a guy who had a history of injuries and was simply a decent RT, what do we do there ??

Will there be an attempt to find Bolles another spot on the OL ?? .. This would mean giving him a new contract, which to me, is almost out of the question considering the reputation Bolles has earned, and the rumors that his lack of taking responsibility for his poor play has created some animosity among teammates … Is there truth to this ?? ..

I just don't see how we could bring Bolles back at this point as he's become the poster boy for the past few seasons of failure ...

FA tackles are tough to come by … What do we do ??

Personally The OL IMO is not getting to Run the Football and when we had Flacco the OL was holding to keep him upright as best they could .

I have not watched the last two games but IMO Allen should of helped all the holding calls .

I still say give this OL a game were they get to Run Block. And tell them to hammer all game long . Some of this is not all their fault.

I think OG is better for him - in today's NFL - there is not much difference between LT and RT - they come at you from both sides equally as much.

From what I read - the next draft is rich for OT types.

I still think there is hope Lepsis was kind of a dough head early on and he finally Developed.

I have no problem taking OL in the Draft Early and often by the way . I want the best Running OL in the league. We get that with one of the best D's in the league we would have something.

I am not Sure why Fangio is not working on Running the football more .You do that and teams fold up.

to win constantly you OL needs to be able to Run the Football and teams know it is coming and cannot stop it . This team has yet to give freeman the peddle, Full full throttle.

He is a beast and we never get him started !

That has to be making our OL coach bonkers !!!!!

You would think Fangio would like to beat the opponent up a little every now and then.

If you start Freeman and give him 20+ carries we win almost every one of though close games .

Don't think Bolles has frame nor technical proficiencies to handle guard that well. Everything happens much faster on the inside and those interior offensive lineman have to be better w/ their hands, an area where Bolles struggles.

Also don't think they keep Leary. That 8.5 million can be used to help retain the younger, more versatile, and ascending McGovern. C or G.

Not sure what they do w/ LT but ideally your 2020 OL has Risner-McGovern-Wilkinson-James manning LG to RT.

Leary gone. Bolles see if anyone is crazy enough to give us a pick like the Falcons Sambrailo. If not depth guy who walks after 2020 season.

I think the problem we have is teams are and continue to stack the box because our RBs are more scary then many of passing weapons. Now with Fant and Sutton really coming on, and Patrick contributing that might start to change a bit.

We need to stop handing the ball to Fant though. We have run him on sweeps twice and both times it has been a loss.

I would never root against the Broncos .. Believe me, I was on the edge of my seat during that last drive yesterday and it still stings .

But facts are facts … As of right now, with a 3-7 record, we hold the 7th pick in the 2020 draft ..
