I'm So High Right Now
Even though last night's loss and elimination from the playoffs is still a bit hard to accept right now, I still have to give credit to the Sabres on making it there in the first place.
The Sabres were dead last in the League towards the end of December, but they battled their way into 7th place in the East, and into the playoffs come the end of the regular season. They showed no quit at all, and played every game like it was a must win game for over 3 months.
Even with injuries to Derek Roy, who was their top scorer at the time, and an injury to Ryan Miller towards the end of the season, the Sabres continued to play hard and never give up. They earned the most points of any team in the East since January 1st, and the 2nd most points of any team in the League since February 24th.
All I know is that if the changes and enthusiasm the Pegula Era has shown so far is any indication on the direction this team is headed, then I am very hopeful and excited to see what they do come July 1st, the rest of the offseason, and in the future.
Once again, I congratulate the Philadelphia Flyers for one hell of a series and the win, and I wish them all the luck the rest of way. Their fans have a talented team that is very resilient with a lot of heart.
And as always......
HERE'S TO NEXT YEAR! (but this time with more success)
