One of the true greats on and off the field. Although he probably deserved better, I feel fortunate to have called him a Cardinal that past 3 years.

"I have not been emotional through the whole process," Watt said. "I had not been emotional back when I made my decision, I wasn't emotional last week really, I wasn't emotional at the last practice, I wasn't really emotional at the meetings (Saturday) night. I was just ready to go to bed. Then (defensive line coach Matt) Burke got up and explained putting together the video. The second that video turned on, I lost it. I absolutely lost it. I was bawling like a baby, and I didn't stop until well into the night."

Thanks Scooby. That was friggin awesome. Another one that retires as a Cardinal that I can't dislike, shit. Lol. If J.J. doesn't go into Canton on the first ballot, the H.O.F. is officially a complete farce.

The Cards were in SF to play Watt's last game. When Watt walked off the field for the last time, the Niner faithful gave him a standing ovation. Incredible player and person. First ballot HOFer.
Yep he's a shoe-in. One of the best DE's of all-time. You could argue one, if not, the best 3-4 year stretch in NFL history. Injuries derailing being the best ever and a lower sack total. His motor was relentless.

Yeah, that 4 year stretch when he won DPOY 3 times is on a level with Reggie White and Lawrence Taylor and guys in that category. Regardless of his longevity, that alone was HOF worthy. Add to that, his Walter Payton MOY award and what he meant to people off the field and it's not even a consideration not to vote him into Canton, imo.

Watt was always fun to watch. Too bad injuries started to get the best of him. Hopefully the same doesn't happen to TJ.
