well before their "signings" my personal rating for the state of the rangers was -15 after these signings my rating is -18. definitely will not be buying a 20-game ticket package for 2026 like i have the last few years 2022-2025

Because they are too cheap. I don't think they want to spend that much on anyone other than a starting pitcher. I don't expect we will spend that much on a reliever while CY is in charge.

I have seen several folks putting a spi on the Diaz signing, saying we have probably found our closer for cheap. The narrative is that our pitching coaches can makes some tweaks and he will be just as good as ever.

Personally, I am not buying that. Also, I am not even buying some of these folks reasons for optimism since we have a brand new pitching coach amd manager. Since they are brand new to us, how can anyone be sure they can "fix" him.

Yeah, they were in a position to do so and took advantage of the situation. Kudos to them. That was a great trade they made.

Still need 1 good bat.
6 players needed total. 38 on 40 man including the trifecta on Friday night lol.
Need to drop 4 players off the 40 man.
Payroll sitting around $176 million after Jansen, Diaz & Alexander(assuming the later are $1 mil each.)

Should Corniell be a SP in AAA to start the season or a multi inning reliever at the major league level with the intent of getting his feet wet and logging 100-120 innings? Making a spot start here and there?
He put up very impressive numbers that should translate well. I hope he’s starting in the rotation come late 2026, start of 2027.
