We lost a big arm in Adolis and like to to see Nimmo play the field as opposed to just checking stats
But intil then Nimmo can play RF due to Wyatt speed.
Until we get a better 4th Of option then Duran can come in RF as a defensive replacement

Nimmo is athletic. Has an average arm and plays ok defense.
Langford is faster, has a stronger arm and more athletic.
If Carter is the CF and you need to pick a spot for Langford and Nimmo..
I would pick Nimmo in LF and Langford in RF.

I’m still confused on why CY traded for Kelly instead of a bat last year?
They had great pitching but terrible offense.
Doesn’t make sense.
For a long time the rangers never had pitching but usually a decent offense.
Why is it so hard to balance it ?
What do the brewers do ?

I think by that time I will want a better hitting DH or a more versatile one. Give me a reliever or two in trade or a prospect or two in trade and let him play OF/DH somewhere else. To me, he is a temporary help that we only picked up to fascilitate dumping Senien.

It is because CY has an unhealthy fascination with starting pitchers. Something tells me if he had been a catcher, that our roster would have two of the top 10 catchers in the league, as well as two more bench players who are good catchers as well as play other positions.

It is the same reason he traded for Gore instead of a closer.

I think if we traded him quickly then CY will have broken a promise to Nimmo and it will come back to bite in reputation

Yeah, that is why I am saying wait a year ir two. Else, I would have wanted to flip him this offseason.

I get the same gist.
I feel like he doesn’t give pitchers time to flourish but allows hitters too much slack to “rebound”

The Spring Training thread is up so I guess this wraps up the offseason thread. Looking back I see that this offseason's thread wound up being 6 pages longer than the one a year ago. That is a little surprising.
