All reports here seem to like the following:
David Shaw
Gary Patterson
Charlie Strong
* long shot Art Briles
Art Briles hates Texas. He would never come here.

I don't think Charlie Strong would come here because he wouldn't even leave Louisville to go back to his alma mater (Arkansas) last year, so what shot do we have?

How bad would Virginia beat tejas?
I guess we will just have to take your coach then.
Every Texas loss is one step closer to Boise State being a permanent irrelevance.
You actually might want to see Texas win if you value Peterson.

Maybe it won't rain so they can have a shot.Ole Miss isn't going to be any easier.
In fairness, that BYU game was played in absolute slop at Virginia.
Plus the top wide receive and likely 1st round draft pick did not play.
The field was horrifically bad. Neither team could move the ball at all in the mud.
And BYU did not have the downfield threat.
Virginia just sat 10 men in the box and dared BYU to run out of the muddy slop.
There was a 2 hour rain delay in that game in the middle of it....the field was arguably the worst in Cavs history.
They actually had to take buckets and bail out the tunnels and locker rooms from rising floodwaters.
That doesn't excuse Texas from poor defense. But, it does show what field conditions can do.
They redid the field for the Oregon game and it was bone dry and sunny today.
Texas will be fine against Ole Miss.
They have a pocket passer.
They got beat tonight by a run-option attack similar to what Rich Rodriguez and Chip Kelly do.
The Ole Miss quarterback is not going to run the ball. He is a passer.
That is a passing spread offense. BYU plays a run spread offense.
It becomes a totally different style of play.
