The bottom 1/3 has won its share of games too ... but with Gentry and Profar only getting odd starts and Mitch cold this is what happens when you have MY in the lineup every night... and then poof Hamilton and Beltre are out.

I'm just talking about tonight's game. The bottom 1/3 has been retired really quickly and easily. Like you said, Moreland is ice cold and Gentry and Profar don't play much. I hope Napoli is available to pinch hit if Moreland's spot comes back up.

I would have liked seeing Gentry come up the last time and bunting right away and try to get something going with one out. He showed bunt on I think his first strike ... but should have just done it.

The list of Rangers pitchers I feel comfortable having in the game is shrinking by the day. Go ahead and subtract Ogando from that list. He's just been all over the place the last month or so. Uehara has surpassed him in usability. Never thought I'd say that.

We've got 3 very solid starters and 3-4 solid relievers. The rest are entirely a crap shoot.

That sure is how it has felt, isn't it? Yeah they've got the best record in the AL so it's hard to find too much fault. But so many of their wins have felt so underwhelming and like we barely got by due to one player coming up big. There just haven't been many nights where it really felt like the entire team has clicked. If the starting pitcher has a great night, the hitting or defense is lackluster. If they put up 7 runs, the pitching gives up 6 and they eke out a win.

We need to stop fooling around and take care of business tonite with Harry. He owns the Mariners and even without Josh and AB we should beat this team. Now the Yankees are only 2 behind us. Would actually like to see the A's beat the Yankees today so we can extend our lead back to 3 over them. We need home field advantage especially against the Yankees. Also I dont want the Angels catching the A's as well. They could sweep the Whitesox this weekend because they skip C. Sale. The Angels could get back into this having 7 games left with the Mariners. Think we all would rather see the A's in the playoffs than possibly having to deal with Weaver, Greinke, Trout and Pulholz.
We can take care of Oakland this week at home and put them out of the rear view mirror.
