Sounds like we’re on very opposite sides, Terminator Genisys was the best Terminator movie since 2.

Yup totally different sides... I thought genesis ruined the franchise all the previous movies showed how everything was predestined... and then genesis changed everything...

If that trailer came out on April 1st then everyone would be convinced it was an April Fools joke.

The best parts of the trailer are when you find out that James Cameron and the guy who made Deadpool are involved.

This trailer looks epic. T3 was meh. The one with Christian Bale was meh. I didn't bother with the last one.

It's a franchise that just fell apart. With Cameron back I think this gets it back on track.

T3 was meh.

I think Terminator 3 is a solid movie. The problem is that T1 is a 9/10 movie and T2 is a 10/10 movie and for me T3 was more of an 8/10 movie so it looks kinda meh by comparison. But you had a capable Arnold, some cool action scenes, a couple of really cheesy scenes, a decent enough cast, and a threatening t1000+ baddie.

The problem with the franchise is that it shouldn't be a franchise. Arnold was T1. T2 was the combination of Arnold, a perfect blending of CGI in a new and exciting way, a strong female co-lead, and a satisfying conclusion that meant that we don't need any more sequels.

All of the Terminator sequels hurt T2 as a movie. Maybe with James Cameron on board we'll get something that can add to the universe without taking away from that movie. T6 has to be more than just another 'run away from t1000' movie. For me to care its going to have to delve deeper into science fiction.

well it showed in terminator 1, different visual Terminators (otherwise they would be easy to spot) Remember when a terminator got inside their compound. That wasnt an Arnie terminator.
So simply use a different hulking type guy for the terminator. Would be easy to write in instead of CGIing a young Arnie.

That Terminator who wasted so many bunker inhabitants was Franco Columbu, Arnold's buddy from bodybuilding.
Franco was Mr Olympia in '76 and '81.

Cheap CGI is to movies what cheap plastic is to build quality.
Just because it's there does not mean you have to use it for everything.


The Dark Knight gives you an idea of what can happen when you make it a point of not using CGI as a crutch.

The last one that was out a few years ago was the last one for me. I really wanted to like it but even after multiple viewings, I just didn't enjoy it at all.
