I'm not so sure about successor but maybe. Definitely a smart sign as a back-up in case Brees gets hurt. I'm not sold on that Taysom Hill kid being much much more than a gimmick.

well, that's what is being reported ... that Teddy could have made more money and started in Miami but he's going back to the Saints .... Is Brees going to retire anytime soon though? I've heard Brees say he's not planning on retiring anytime soon ...

As bad as his injury was, he could just be to the point where he is happy in the backup roll. He might have doubts as to whether he could start 16 games, and with that injury, you can't blame him.
His thinking might be, "I could go to Miami, start a 4 games in a roll, knee won't hold up and get hurt and never play again, or I could be a backup, start an odd game here and there and last 10 more seasons in the backup roll.

Maybe he just saw Miami as a dead end. Hard to say what the Fins will be or won't be but history isn't great there. At least with the Saints, you know the team will contend.

Well, Teddy is still pretty young so maybe he figures carrying a clipboard for a couple years and waiting for the right opportunity is better in the long run, I guess. Time will tell but I agree @SteelersPride , you always would prefer to be a starter.

I think if he thinks he goes to a team with no offfense & he bombs because of the team around him. he may never start again.
Saints are a superbowl contender & sitting there for one more year. Maybe a better opportunity comes up next year.
Not sure I would want to start for the Dolphins either right now. Could actually hurt his career.
