Believe it or not, Baylor still has a shot. They would need to beat Oklahoma on the 13th, then they would face the winner of Bedlam in the CCG. Of course, they would need to win out as well, which I don't think is likely. Probably lose to Texas this weekend.

in the SEC, if Ole Miss still has a chance, then so does Kentucky. Both of them have only lost to their current division leaders. Personally, I don't think either of them have a shot.

Big Ten is going to devour themselves.

Ole Miss can still win the SEC. Just need a Bama loss. Kentucky would need two Georgia losses.
One loss Baylor ain't making the playoff. I hesitated at including OSU but did because they would have beat OU in back to back weeks.

So what if a 2 loss team wins either the SEC or B1G Conf Title game?

Auburn, for example, could win out, including a 2nd chance win over Georgia in the CCG. Does 1 loss Georgia get in and 2 loss Auburn get left out?

Well Auburn is definitely out. UGA would almost certainly get in, unless weird stuff happened elsewhere.

Man, I see Wake losing. The B1G will have some losers coming up: Michigan, Michigan State, etc. I mean Ohio State could lose one, but doubt it. Oklahoma State loses another one. I am wrong here, but I could see Notre Dame sneaking into the CFP. Only loss is to an undefeated Cincy team.

Auburn at 2-losses is 100% out. Would probably be #5 in the final polls.

I dont really see a path for Pitt considering who they list to and how down the ACC is but if youre including Pitt you need to include Baylor

When i think of this topic i always look at it as " if this team wins out are they in OR do they need help"

If they need help i dont include them

To me the only teams who are in for sure if they win out are

UGA
Oklahoma
Alabama
Michigan
MSU
OSU
Cincinnati

Those teams i 100% believe are in for sure if they win out

The next tier is teams im pretty sure would get in if they win out

This year that list is only

Iowa

Everyone else needs help in some way or another

Amazingly intelligent post for a guy wandering about in Iowa in a corn field thinking some dudes from the 1910s will show up to play baseball in his backyard.

Didn't they recently put that game on? Not with players from the 1910s, but they got Kostner there and the players came out of the corn onto the field?

I would say for the most part this is accurate. But I think there are other teams that still have pathways to the playoffs, although there would need to be a lot of help for them. Help that isn't gonna happen, but theoretically still could. Like at least Baylor and Kentucky. Again, they would need a lot and that "lot" almost assuredly isn't gonna happen. But it's not like completely 0% like pretty much every other team, barring miracles.

Going back to the Michigan losing one game but getting in scenario.

Right now Wisconsin is killing Iowa, they seem to have righted their ship? UW is a team Michigan has beaten. Could add another ranked team to Michigan's resume if UW keeps winning? Meanwhile, on WF's end, seems they may lose Pitt as a ranked team they beat, if Miami holds on for the win, up 2 TDS right now? That could lead WF with ZERO wins over ranked teams, and Michigan with 3 wins over ranked teams.

Pitt & Iowa were eliminated earlier today.

SMU has a slight chance if they win out.
