He was better this year when pushed by Gruden bringing in Mariota and Carr was pretty good in 16 or whatever it was until he broke his leg but in between, he's been pretty mediocre. I don't think Derek is awful. It's just that we've seen enough to believe he will never be elite. And top 12ish for 1 season out of 5 doesn't scream multiple firsts. That's just how I see it though. He is a far cry better than Wentz imo, though so there's that going for him. Anyway, cheers DJ, I would rather see you guys get Watson than an NFC team.
This wasn't his first good season. Just his best.

2015

Were other good seasons he had.

I stand by , this was carr's best season by far. Base stats show a good year. Advanced metrics put him as a mid pack qb, this year. So in his BEST year, he still is grading out as mid pack player to me.

Eagles should:

1) Trade Wentz to the Bears for a first rounder

2) Trade Houston native Jalen Hurts and two first rounders for Deshaun Watson

3) Win more rings

If they trade Wentz....they should look at Jacoby Brissett as a backup to Hurt.....or to compete with him. And draft a QB as a long term replacement and be the 3rd stringer.

Brissett knows the offense.

Bears fans should be excited. Wentz comes in and hurts his vag, Foles replaces him and goes on a run to win the SB.

Sounds like a bears move. Pace don’t give a fuck. He’s swinging for the fences and needs an upgrade at QB. He’s gone after next year if the team sucks. Wentz is a slight upgrade to trubisky.

However, the bears front office is big on masking their moves too. They might be putting these rumors out to throw other teams off the trail of what they are really planning, which is probably dumber than getting wentz.

the irony is Trubisky played better than Wentz last year.

I think his best season was 2015, he played like ass the whole second half of the season, probably not much better than Mitch Trubisky if you compare the numbers for the second half.

Wentz played like hot ass this season, like he was legitimately terrible for what he's done in the past, even in his seasons after his injury during his MVP level performance. I think he's still a decent QB when healthy and upright, he needs a change of scenery and the Colts and their offensive line and run game give him the best chance. If I'm any QB with a clue, then I would be asking about Indianapolis.

Bears will offer two 1st round picks because Pace and Nagy are desperate because if they lose this season they're both gone.

So from the perspective of Pace if Wentz sucks than he's gone and that loss of a 2022 1st rounder is the next guy's problem. If Wentz has a bounce back season than nobody is going to care if you gave up two 1st rounders to get him.

Pace probably sees Wentz as the only feasible upgrade he can make at QB this year. They're pick too late in the 1st to trade up to 2 or 3 and even if you do you have to break a rookie in. I think they'd be all in for Watson but they just don't have to assets to beat out a lot of other teams if they go all in as well so you'd be hoping Houston trades him for starters, Watson would waive a no trade clause to go to Chicago, and you somehow are able to outbid teams that simply can give Houston much better trade packages.

Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane reports the Eagles are "getting closer to trading" Carson Wentz.

This confirms reports from NFL Network and ESPN. Teams are making "aggressive offers" to the Eagles currently, and Wentz "wants to move on" from the organization that opted to draft his eventual replacement (Jalen Hurts) instead of adding more help in last year's draft. Philly will be taking on $33.8 million in dead money by trading him, but the relationship may be too fractured to keep him inside the building. The asking price is what's delaying a trade right now. McLane believes GM Howie Roseman is "probably" searching for multiple first-round picks after seeing what Matthew Stafford was traded for. It's unclear how many teams would be willing to give up even one first-round pick after Wentz finished 31st out of 32 quarterbacks in passing EPA per dropback, but the Colts and Bears are potential suitors. Both teams were involved in Stafford talks and currently sit outside of rookie quarterback striking distance.
