Patriots trading tight end cook to the Rams looks like the Rams are going all out to try and win the Superbowl next year.

WR Cooks. He got traded to NE from the Saints last off season. Agreed, the Rams are going all in this year.

The Rams sure are loading up. The football gods tend to level things out a little bit, so I'm expecting a rash of injuries.

I thought the Rams had like 100 million in cap space next season. After signing people, they should still be around the 35 to 40 million mark. Where am I seeing this wrong, because i'm sure I am. I cant believe an organization that just established itself with a new coach would jeopardize its near future for a one shot only season.

They do have that cap space, but 17 unrestricted free agents including Gurley, Aaron Donald, Brandin Cook, Sus.

I believe that Marcus Peters rookie deal ends after this coming season as well... He'll be saying, "Show me the money!"

They have the room to resign most these guys. It's not all or nothing "this year" but we saw what happened when the Eagles tried to make a dream team. Yeah this doesn't normally play out well but who knows.

I hope Pete sees the writing on the wall (we're in a reload year, they're going all out) and draws up some Jeff Fischer style trickery against the Rams this year. Would love nothing better than to weasel a win or two away from them in their peak year.

Yep... team is positioning themselves poorly given a lot of these contracts are for aging players on 1-2 year rentals when the team should be building up via youth around a young QB/Coach. Not to mention, Cooks, Suh, Talib, and Peters are all locker room cancers and I'm sure it wont be long before Cooks is throwing a tantrum he's not getting enough passes (and he will, he did so with two HOF QBs), thus screwing with Goff's development. It's not what I'd want to surround my QB and new coach with but what do I know, I'm just a jealous Hawks fan apparently. :rolleyes2:

Rams aren't even the favorites in the NFC which is still the Eagles and Vikings... and if Rodgers is healthy that's another issue to contend with. So all in on this year... and then it all collapses. Nice.

Just good-natured ribbing here, but I chuckle every time I see a post in this thread.... TE Cooke....when it's WR Cooks. Hopefully that's a drunken fail.
